Started working on the graphics for my game project. I haven't done any pixel art in a long while so would love to hear any comments/critique on this character:



It's currently using 12 colors total, do you think that is too much? I may have overdone it with the shading a little bit..

I like having details, but the more details/colors there are the slower it is to animate of course, and I'd like to keep the look crisp and clear as well (and also finish the art/game someday ) I'm aiming for a look that's somewhere between 8-bit and 16-bit, but leaning a bit more towards the latter.

This is a key character in the game so I'd like to get it right, therefore any tips/opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
