If this is a DS game, why not put the text box in the other screen?

I think any #X0X0X0 color code can be used, eg. #808080, #F00000.

hmm ... i see. I intended to mimmic metal shading, but apparently i couldn't get it right ... maybe i'm missing intermediate shades to feel more comfortable ...
It's not the shades, it's the seemingly random placement. The armor looks like it's pitted or made of rippling water.

Edit: I think the huge boots and forearms thing is practically a trademark of the Megaman franchise. Not that you shouldn't use it, but try deviating from it and see what you get.

It's probably unfinished but, the neck looks as if it's been flayed and glued to the screen.  (In other words, the depth isn't reading right.) I wouldn't use that bright yellowish shade on it when it ought to be darkened by the head's shadow. The face is awesome, however.  :y:

The chin seems to blend into the face and neck despite the exaggerated cleft. That in particular bothers me about the picture, you look rat-faced. If you take nothing else from Opacus's edit, take the way he defines the chin.

The feet should be about under Oliver's center of gravity, which I imagine is directly under the hat. If the hat hides most of his body, which I imagine might in turn hide most of his feet, we probably shouldn't even see them.  It looks like the hat has grown feet, with no body in between.

I probably should have elaborated, but I was trying to suggest that you look through a few pages of the image search I posted for inspiration to create something new/original.

I think the most important thing you need to do is to imagine the robot as a set of 3D shapes ("volumes") rather than as rectangles. It will guide your shading, help you give the image depth, and make it recognizable as an object.

I don't think Kayo should have the same body-shape as Hiro. I think maybe she should have a slightly smaller torso at least. It would be even better if each member were caricatured individually rather than as clones of each other, despite their seemingly uniform appearance.

Edit: Or, perhaps, because of their uniformity. There's only so much variety you can make with just the skins and heads.
