Pixel Art / [help needed] scott-like character
« on: June 13, 2019, 06:13:22 pm »
hello guys ! I was doing a sprite similar to the scott pilgrim game characters, but I can't get it to look good :

I'm really disatisfied with how the tie look, I think the eyes need works as well but I can't get this straight.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot !

Pixel Art / [help needed] letter characters .
« on: April 02, 2018, 10:20:39 pm »
Hello everyone,
I'm working on an app where I need a personified " X " and " O " I do not have any obligation, except that they need to be red and green.

For now i've been working on sketching something that works, but whatever I do I cannot obtain something satisfying, does anyone with a little bit more experience than me could help me out ? I do not really know how to approach such a thing.

Thanks a lot!

Hello everyone,

I've come to you for a particular problem I thought I'd never face ever again : Maths !

I was working on some tiles for the game of a friend, and was doing a cell-like pavement that I particularely liked :

once put together, it would make a cool pavement, perfect to make round surface and so on :

the problem being : I don't really know how to make a tile out of it. Out of luck, the first dimension I tried was perfectly the right size, once put into a 32*32 or 16*16 tiles, it fit perfectly, meaning that I could allign the tile without the cell being "cut" :

but obviously, when I tried bigger or smaller cell, it's impossible to make them into 32*32 tiles. So I came here to call for your help : does anyone have any idea how to calculate the dimension of a diamond-shape cell so that it's possible to make it into a 32*32 tile ? Because i've been racking my brain without figuring it out. Thank you !

Pixel Art / Help - Loose clothing in low-res.
« on: October 12, 2017, 01:24:29 am »
Hello everyone !

I'm quite new in pixel art, but it is always a pleasure to see imprvement.

I've been doing hi-rez character so far, to get a grip on basic techniques. But since I wanted to enlarge my domain of expertise, I tried doing 16*16 and 32*32 characters.

The problem being that I cannot get a decent result, everything i've done so far is terrible, I realized that when I finished my last attempt to do a character in "loose" clothing. I can't get some good effect on the shading; Thus I'm seeking help of some more experienced pixel artists.

Here is the best I managed to get :

Thanks a bunch !

Pixel Art / [WIP] Need some review on my running cycle.
« on: September 07, 2017, 01:13:16 am »
Good evening everybody ! I hope everything's going right for you.
So, i've been working on the running animation of one of a characters, but no matter what I do, I can't figure out how to "perfectize" it . It always seems a bit of, as if it was missing something.

Anyway, I just want to say that i've been doing pixel art for only a couple of mounth, and thus I'm really not that advanced. Don't get mad over poor work, i'm doing my best <3

Here's what it looks like when animated :

a slower version :

and finally : how is the character when "standing still" so that you have an idea of what it looks like.

Thanks a lot for any retour ! Have a nive night !
