Pixel Art / Re: Rpg Building (Work in Progress)

even if you don't want to move it for one pixel, (at my first glance) it's a little distracting, not to mention there's a tangent from the letter "i" to the little log holding the rooftop in place.  i really think elk's critique is important.

as for the linework, it's looking real smooth, i like it.

i really think the pose and lines are looking great.  and the sword looks fine with all the jaggies on the side, makes it look war torn.  you could just sharpen the tip with some anti-aliasing.

as far as colors, you should consider using sel-out to really add contrast in between the tones, like on the chest-plate for example.  the hair could have more of a hair-like texture and not necessarily realism, more like ariel from the little mermaid.  anyway, keep at it man, i'm really digging this.

btw, do NOT look up jayce on google images...eww

check your silhouette, you may need a stronger pose, especially for a huge sword.  my example is a little bigger, but i hope it gets the point across.

there's a word for it, but i'm not too sure what it is.  try to have the shoulders and hips counter each other and converge rather than be parallel.

Sorry if this looks rushed.  I'm in class at the time but I really liked the idea of this.  Here's an edit that may help you out.  I cleaned up the lines and rounded out some edges.  I didn't get to the legs because of my situation but i would be glad to finish that when i get home.  did some things for the cuteness you were asking about, but it's totally subjective: moved the eyes closer together and rounded out the nose.  Froli's edit is a great example of another way to do this as well.

I think you're trying to fit a lot of information where it isn't needed.  the really skinny parts of his body could use less AA on some parts, depending on your light source.  define a light source and build around that.  otherwise, some parts could be defined as pillow shading.  the pants don't look too bad, though.  if you could work the whole piece the way you did the shoes, it would really help and make the smaller parts more readable.  i'm really digging the way the shoes came out.

i'm not a fan of the 'anime' face, it just distracts from the rest of the piece, but the pose is working nicely.  keep at it

here's an edit on one of the sprites, hope you don't mind.  the biggest thing i saw was that they were really lacking in contrast and saturation.  very dull colors.  i like the designs and poses though.  i also edited some of the lighting because what you had originally was really flattening the head, almost like a button rather than a sphere.  this is just how i'd go about it.

thanks!  how's this?

i also tried removing the lines too.

more c&c por favor.  i'm really not sure how to go about the shirt.  none of the shading i've tried is working.  the colors are looking really dull.

hey guys and gals.  everytime i browse this forum i get inspired to pixel something.

and besides, punaji is closed.  bless her heart.  :[

anyway, onward

i started this an hour ago and i'm still going.  i thought i'd just post it up for suggestions

based off this sketch i did earlier in the day

i'd like to make my pixels look more like my sketches, but i'm always afraid of using too many colors.  i'm kinda pushin my own limits with the skin tones on this one.

C&C por favor

i'll post updates

thanks a bunch guys, i really think i may just stay with the flatter version i posted before this.  i also did some aa on the beak using the existing colors.  but for the sake of experimenting, i tried some other feather textures.
