Pixel Art / Re: Having a little problem with a poze more at an angle

What do you think about something like that ?

Light gray is a front of the building, the dark gray wall is the side one.

Of course I'll change the color of the cloths, for more darker colors but I'm aiming right now for the angles.
Does it look ok ?

Pixel Art / Having a little problem with a poze more at an angle

Hi everyone !
Does someone has an advice about some sort of sitting angle or angles it self.

I was experimenting with it in other characters, but it was harder to make it with a whole body.

I was trying to get this position

I mean more of an angle. You can see that he is sitting more at an angle.

In this one it's easy to spot that it's not at an angle or something like that.

If you guys have some examples of sprites that I can check, I would appreciate it !!
I want to improve this poze as well

It's WIP, so if you could send some sprites from other games or something like that. I want to try to edit it by my self :)

Happy New Year

So well :D

I've changed a bit the hoodie, added a color that shows the most highlighted spots, changed a bit upper hand and arm, and blanket.

What do you think about it ? I've tried my best to get the best light and dark colors for grey :D

Hi eishiya !

To be honest it's hard for me to see what collor is what here (half of the hoodie is covered in shadow but it looks like it's linked with arm I don't know why :D)

Oh and this blanket looks to great :D When I was making the grey color even darker, I couldn't make this purple color so I thought it was ok but I see I could use purple as well.

Like I did in my last character

I thought that the hoodie will fit this guy as well.
Oh and I know that this site can increase the picture, but I have to upload it to some site (I'm using imgur)
So it makes it automatically large.

I'll try to make some edit as well, I would be glad If you could check my next post :)
Thanks for reply

Hi everybody :)
I have a little problem with a character.
I'm trying to create a "homeless" person (he is necessary for my friends game)
The pose it self seems ok I guess, but I have some problem with the colors. I don't know if the arm, armpit looks like ok, blanket seems ok

Check it out by yourself.

About drawing, you can find some tutorials how to start, drawing simple art can help you transfare it into pixelart.

I'm using Aseprite, I've found somewhere a free old version, so I'm using it.

Try to focus on the lightning, where is the source of light.

On the left I did my version, and on the right I tried to modyfie your version, by shading your colors (I'm not good with asymmetric style

Try to experiment with many colors, try to draw some items using the pictures of the real ones.

Oh and also great job with this box :) The point is to open your creativity.

What I mean was that take a piece of paper, and start drawing using pencil or what ever you have. It will help you draw in pixel art if we talk about big resolutions.

If you are intrested in anatomy then find some tutorials (first try it out in a piece of paper, then you can transfare it into pixel art)

I'm not the proffesional here so take my critique with with distance.

If I were you I would start with drawing small things, in small resolution like 32x32.
And check out how to use some colors in different way : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhgSM_tnPM4

Or if you really want to draw in bigger resolution, then In my opinion you should start with drawing in "real life", it sounds wierd I know ... But it has sense.

I had a lot of art that I've fu**t up, for example just a simple street, city, ground etc.

So I've decided to change everything starting with sketch

Adding some colors

It's not perfect for me, but I know that giving it some time, will help me improve my skills.
I can say the same to you and your arts, try with something small like character, try to change some colors, experiment, stay 2-3-4 hours at 1 pixel because it doesn't fit.

If you want I can give you a challange :) And all new people here as well.
Let's try to do our pixel art wooden box :D

Here I add my pixel wooden box.

I don't know if my advice might be helpfull or not, but If I were you I would change the palette color.
I've watched a video about that and here are the difference that might help you improve the color palette in your characters and the background.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhgSM_tnPM4

Here is my example :

My first character looked like that

but thanks to some people in this forum + this video I did some improvements

I don't know if it will help somehow. But I can see that you are doing your best :)
