Thanks everyone for your replies :D

Applied danmanr98 reccomendations on pallete and outline, and corrected shading contradictions that eishiya noticed (I hope they are ok now ._.)

I'm surely going to keep uploading my stuff for feedback :) THANKS A LOOOOOOOT

Edit: Melodee, is not a bug, i'm still not used to this website, gotta read the pm then, thanks :)

danmanr98, dude your recomendations are genius, specially that i'm terrible with color palettes :P

Anyway, I animated the thingy (And added his friend), wanted some feedback on animation too :)

And just for the sake of it, this is how the "tank" used to look before

The purple "friend" was the vulcan on top before the change

Thank you, really :D

I'm very happy you liked it :D

Is there something I did wrong? knowing even the most insignificant details that are off is really important to me, I HIGHLY doubt this piece right there is "perfect" :(

Also, some of the "pre-artstyle transition" assets are probably going to make it to the final (edited, perfected or at least used on smaller things like scenery or easter eggs).

Finally, what is a "cluster"? i'm (still) not very fond to pixel art jargon XD

Ok, I think i'm finally getting used to pixel art.

Recently I noticed that the game I was working on was painfully similar to Metal Slug, which was something bad, specially because of the release of Cuphead (which make our project look like Bubsy 3D compared to Mario 64).

I decided to throw away the metalic aesthetic and giving the game a more "biological" approach (aside from playing with gameplay mechanichs, but that goes in the Unity forums XD).

Anyway, here is my first result of the transition:

Let's talk about how original the character is latter, what I need right now is feedback on excecution, Thanks for your help :')

Looks wicked!  Only thing I see that is iffy is the variation of colors.  Your gold material is consistent throughout, but every other material seems to only be used once.  I count 6 of them.  Try reducing that count to 3-4, reusing say the 'granite' material where the blue is on the gun.

Thanks for the advise, I just have one question, what do you mean by "wicked"? is that a compliment or...

Edit:
This is some really solid sprite work, I just think your colours aren't making it look that metallic. Metal has heavy contrast, so thats what i tried to do in my edit. You can also see that on the grey arm, I added much more colours, that's cause grey is a really boring shade, you wan't to mix it up by adding some blue and purple.

Dunno on this one tbh, still a neat alternative, i'll try it, THANKS A LOT  :'( :'( :'(

Ah, 'bout the "marketing guy", we're not a high budget business, we are just 4 people, I called him like so because he is the one in charge of marketing (i'm not actually sure if he knows about this NDA stuff).

In any case, thanks for the information, i'm gonna talk with my partners about this new options (I got scolded in an almost daily basis anyway :'( :ouch:).

however... let's say I upload some stuff to this forum BUT the thief uses it before I release the product, leaving the game being published AFTER the thief did use the stolen pixel art, is it possible to us to end being "technically" the thiefs?

I'm so thankful, I really REALLY want to share my stuff with you guys, but i don't want my work to end unusable  :( :( :(

EDIT: Btw... how do I enter the slack server? like... is there any requisite or something?

Well, I have a kind of important question

I'm making a game and have posted some pieces to get feedback, but our marketing guy told me to stop posting our stuff on the internet to prevent a potential design and art stealing.

I then wondered, is it unsafe to upload assets from our game on this forum to receive feedback? if so, what should I do to get criticism safely?

In case is not a problem to post our pixel art here, how can you assure me that? is there any policy or law on this forums that prevent stealing?

Thank you, also, I want to check the terms of agreement of this forum once more to make sure I didn't missed anything regarding this topic, THANKS!  ;D

You gotta vary your Palette More!
The solid gold look of it is mechanical for sure but it doesn't drive the eye anywhere around the design!
Try including more firey reds or sinister grey/purples, play with the colors till you have proper MENACE (or whatever impression you're shooting for)

Wow, THANK YOU A LOT for the Info :) some comments about the technique? like... the shading, traces or style in general used in this piece is ok?
