it's funny because you say imageshack never corrupted an image for you (I think) and yet you posted that image today and it is not showing up?

Pixel Art / Rainbow World entrance
« on: July 03, 2008, 10:16:52 pm »
So I'm working on the rainbow world entrance. No, I am not a freak about total consistency yet :-) so indeed shadows and things will not be 100% astounding, however I'm working on a tree right now in front of the door and I am needing help on making it match the other tree.

p.s. clouds inspired (and background clouds, not entirely visible, designed by Alkaline. Foreground clouds are not his)

Pixel Art / Re: Water-mill [WIP]

This is trluy incredible. I am wondering though, which was is the water moving, and will the wheel eventually drop water? So far it appears to serve no purpose. It mildly lifts water for a single frame.

I actually had the idea for a cyber punk game and it's a beautiful beautiful story (well, very disturbing, but well written) and included steampunk. I know this may be off topic but anyway if you'd like to chat sometime find me on aim

General Discussion / Collab (design your own shelled creature)

So I invented this creature a long time ago, I call it a bomy-bopot. It's been featured on Graal Online and now I'm giving it a game of its own. You can play around with it and watch how it works here in the short little Flash demo I've created: http://antago.deviantart.com/art/Bomy-Adventure-86309682

As you can see I'm sort of making a game with it right now, and since it's such a simple creation I thought people would have fun developing their own! You may give it extra sprites for special powers and abilities as you see fit, you do not need to stick with the template. If it's very exceptional, I'll code it up and stick it in the game :-)

Here's your basic template and some examples:

credits for these go to me, Gonmon, Golgamech, Kraken, FrEAk+ and Ben R.

This is what happens when I restore my computer and become lazy.

Then I thought it was pretty inspirational, so I made it into a doodle.

It's... a... Cloudduckie™? I don't know what it's supposed to be, really.

It's supposed to be in the cloud world of my game is what it's supposed to be ;)

Seiken Densetsu 3 is always simply incredible. To this day I gasp secretly inside myself (and you're not allowed to tell anyone that!!! It's our little secret..) when I look at the worlds these people managed to build with just pixel-work. The fact that it is so old is even more intense; people like me still wish we could be just as good.

General Discussion / Re: Best graphics in a NES game
« on: July 02, 2008, 12:26:42 am »
I agree, Megaman 6 is divine. Is simply is, those people made not only some of the most creative moves (and that's surprising!) but it looks and feels like some sort of mechanical world. It's let's be honest, it's NES.

Kirby was always splendid; the graphics were pretty simple but still beautiful

Adventure Island 3 is a masterpiece as well: http://mobcity.info/2008/05/06/adventure-island-3.html
Ya, it's no Megman 6 or Super Mario Bros 3, but the cute dinosaurs did the trick

I like the hair bob. The Jesus thing is really cool, and I'm not religious
I'd like to see some more frames for the dog. So far it's like two frames and if he plays a big role, make him a little more animated, like a squirrel.
