right now the perspective is at eye-level which I prefer over EvilEye vanishing point suggestion (which was a little bit lower than mine)

so... if there's anything else that needs corrections, I'll post it on pj :)

PS: thanks everyone for the comments

ok I've tried to correct:
- color tones and contrast: gained one color that I used for pillars highlights
- perspective, as pointed out, there was something wrong with it: corrected the stones perspective as well as the lamps at the sides
- overall quality and some minors adjustments

thanks Mathias for the comment.

The only thing I would like to note: unfortunately the contest restriction is on color count, and now I'm full at 32. so it would be really hard to achieve such lighting emphasis, but I think you all pointed out a good thing: the "pillars" are actually too much flat, as well as the bottom rocks.
I like Mathias edit to make them more rough so I'd work on that. truly love the raw look it will gain.
more I'd try to work a little better on lights casts.

stay tuned ;)

Thats how I it looks to me.
how it looks, or should look?
didn't understand.
What's wrong in your opinion?
consider a central perspective on the door, maybe the two rocks on the base of the pillars are a bit strange and lacks of depth?

Before submitting to this week contest, I'd like to see if there's anything (C+C) you'd like to point out on this work

Keep in mind that it's about 2 days I'm on this and I am a bit tired, but if it's possible I'd like to improve it without too much hassle.

General Discussion / Re: IE8 Smooths images again!

thanks crow for posting that js code, I was going to find or write something similar for my online portfolio.

a pity both chrome and ie8 are using that resampling, I'm wondering what the devels had in mind. Is it that useful?

General Discussion / Re: Primitives in Gimp

I totally agree with Ai
I'm using grafx2 most of the time, but currently it lacks layers so I'm using it for single elements and then compose the whole in gimp. but heavily depends on what I'm doing :)

thanks boojiboy for the reply.
although that wasn't the part I wanted to edit, I do see the need for some small modifications on body proportions and such things.

Actually my greatest problem is on colors, having 3 different light sources that "interacts" with the characters.

anyway, I hope I can post an update soon

Pixel Art / [WIP] The Angry Bird

Hello all, at the end I opened this thread because I don't find a way to finish a piece I've started a few week ago.
It's based on a draw I've done lot of time ago and found it perfect for pixelling, so right now I've created the whole scene, but my main problem is again on some depth errors and small quirks I wish to eliminate
consider the piece is still unfinished, but before going on I wanted to correct:
legs of the bird, foreground objects shading, lighting contrast and background overall composition

now the piece:

any C+C is very welcome :)
