Aw a lot of these warmed my heart, these are such sweet demakes. Very nice job man!

hahahahah there are what I recognize: (Batman AA, Bayonetta, SSB Brawl, Brutal Legend, FF13 (This one gave me a smile xD), Guitar Hero, CoD, MGS4, Mirror's Edge, Picman, RdR, Resident Evil and Super Mario Kart) PHEW. I may be wrong about some, though.

Thanks for all the edits you guys! Though IvanX, that looks like a totally different style from what I'm trying to capture.
Anyways, here's another update:

The hand placement in the large pose with the dude holding the spike thing is very confusing. I tried putting my hand in that position and it hurts, a lot. I think you should make it more clear where his fingers are pointing, and then it'll be fine. Really nothing else to say, you did a great job minimizing colors and shading the most important areas, sweet job  :y:

Thanks for the tips, they all helped a lot! And I tried tackling all of the problems you mentioned, and I brought back the hair too since you're right about her being better as a blue-nett. I also tried to begin shading the portrait.

Pixel Art / Character re-do

Well I'm trying to make some cool sprites with a character idea I previously had, but she was too big for me to animate. (Or rather, I was too lazy to animate such a big sprite)

So, I'm trying to remake her and at the same time, make some other things I can use in the future. So, i'd like some feedback on what I make as I continue working on it.

Here's most recent:

Older Versions:
(Also, if I ever make a game for this character, she'll be 2x size or larger)

WOW *facepalm* how did I not notice that..? Fixing now.. And about the leg, a friend of mine told me that too.. but I don't know what either of you mean.. maybe the shading?

I've started working on another girl from TWGoK, Nanaka Haibara, so c/c/s would be nice for that too.

My WIP:

(the circle is where her hand is going, I'm having a lot of trouble getting that sketched)

Jun Nagase

She's a student teacher and my favorite character who is just plain adorable and kick-ass :P
Anyway, I'm pretty proud with how she turned out, but I'm still constantly adding and changing things about her. So, I'd like to get her perfectly done, since she deserves as much.  :y:

Some references I used:

Nanaka Haibara (LEFT) WIP:

2nd favorite character, she's an expert shogi player (kinda like chess) and she's also pretty bad-ass. In very early WIP, I'm still sketching her base out.

So again, crits comments and suggestions would be heavily appreciated. Thanks.

Quick 'n dirty, hope this clears up my crits:

The light from the lamp should be centered around the lamp, and symmetric about the depth axis.

Something like this, though my quick hack doesn't look much like wood.  And I think I got my left/right incorrect in the initial crit of that one.  The light from the lamp will strike the vertical face of the broken boards and make them slightly lighter on one side.  Also corrected the highlight on the floorboards in this one.

Oh wow that looks great! Only problem is, I've never really dealt with that sort of stuff. I learned about the perspective lines from my Art teacher, but she didn't tell me to do things like ellipses, I'll try to look up some tutorials.

@Elk no no I am listening! There's still a lot of stuff that needs to be added before I post an update since that's what you want, more stuff :P
Thanks for the tip on the light strength too, I had no idea about any of that kind of stuff.

I did draw it on paper  :-[

I'm just adding things one at a time, I'll add more stuff eventually once I get my pro motion copy.

Wow this is great, so much feedback!  :y:;D

@blumunkee: Unfortunately that will be very difficult to do, mainly since It'll take me a long time to get a sprite even ready, but more so b/c characters won't actually walk around in the background, it will just be there for decoration. For example, here's a location, and he's a character inside of that location from the inspiring game.

@JonathanOfDrain: Oh I was planning on AA don't get me wrong, it's just that there is SO much left to do. Right now I'm pretty much waiting for a painting program with layers, so I don't have to ruin the image whenever I want to try to add another object.

@Tourist: Wow. Awesome.
The cabinet is just one of the few things I felt comfortable shading. It's not from a different source, it was custom made for this. Old pic with prespective lines, old pic with drawer's perspective lines
I have no idea what you mean there, unfortunately >_<
Really? I guess I'll try and see how it will come out.
Oh of course, I keep forgetting about the center plank. You're totally right, I'll extend it now.
Again, not sure I understand what you mean
I guess I'll try to fit one pixel in, then.
      Awesome, thanks.
      Good idea.
Yeah I know, there are actually a lot of things yet to be added. I just need to get myself a painting program with layers so I don't have to constantly ruin the image drawing perspective lines.
Another good idea, I'll try that too.
OK, I'll do that now then.
Fixed, that was a silly error of mine.

I appreciate the in-depth post, thanks a lot, I'll try taking them all into account.

@Cris: I'm going to try to break up the wood now, and I'll edit the door while I'm at it.
