In the meanwhile, if anyone has more critiques about it, please don't hesitate to mention them to me :)

Pixel Art / [Feedback Needed] Female Run Cycle
« on: June 29, 2020, 07:03:46 pm »
Hello everyone. These are run cycles I made for this character, facing down and up (so far):

My partner says arms in facing up animation look like she's doing a Fortnite dance.
So I want to know your opinion about it. How can I improve the facing up animation if you agree with what my partner says?
Also if you have critiques about anything else, let me know.

Thanks a lot in advance!

looks like a pretty standard pleated skirt, here:

Yes, that seems the same type of skirt, but as I said in my first post, I'm looking for example animations or videos of a woman walking in a skirt, not still images.

Anyways, I searched more and found what I wanted. Thank you all.

This is the type of skirt I'm talking about. I don't know what it is called, but it's a little puffy, kinda ruffle type of skirt.

Thanks!

Hi everybody

I'd appreciate it if anyone shows me an example animation of a woman walking in a skirt. A pixel art animation would be great, but if you have another type of resource, it's still fine.

Been working on a female walk cycle who is wearing a skirt, but I don't know how to animate the skirt to make it look good and natural  ???

Is this any better?

A friend of mine said the back doesn't move back and forth enough. I don't know how to fix it... I consider myself a newbie in pixel art. ???

Glad to hear! Thanks to you and your help!  :)

I need everyone's help again. I have another run cycle for the same character, except it is facing up. Curious to know how I can improve it. Any help/ suggestion/ critique would be appreciated.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys  ;D

Thank you Chonky Pixel for your feedback! I changed the arms movement based on what you said and tried to make it look more realistic. Here is the improved version:

If there are more critiques to it, let me know!
Thanks a lot!  ;D

Hi Everyone!

I need some piece of advice to improve the run cycle I made.
Here it is

This is the reference video. I want my run cycle to be like this but I'm having trouble figuring it out:
[Nudity] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGlgPauSg-M

P.S. The angle I'm looking for is top-down. It is for a 2D RPG game.

I appreciate any critiques on how to improve it!
Thank You!  :)

hm, looking at this further I think the problem is an overabundance of colors and a lot of size discrepancies. Those legs are kinda chicken-leggy, and the torso is way too long and detailed compared to the simplistic style of the rest of the piece.

My edit doesn't fix much of that, but hopefully it points you in the right direction

Thank you for your critiques MysteryMeat! I appreciate the time you spent to fix my crappy sprite.

With the "size discrepancies" you mentioned, can you show me an example? I'm a little confused on how it should really be. And if the sideways sprite doesn't have the right proportions, then the one facing down must be messed up too... Is that what you saying?
