Hello, I would like some advice on this Caterpie/Nightmare thingy, especially on light and shading (while making this I tried to imagine the light source to be 3/4 from the top, aligned with its forehead, even though I'm noticing right now I may have shifted it slightly to the left for some reason)

I've used a process that may have crossed some lines, but it has helped me speed things up a little, I think...
Started off from a doodle

Then I traced and colored it

Scaled it down

And used it as a guide while redrawing it all over (not a 1:1 copy ofc)

thoughts? is this acceptable?

I made an inventory for my school-themed game, but something seems off and for sure there's room for improvement. Being a background image, it doesn't have to be too much detailed.
I'm also struggling with the outline.

Hi,I'm making a pixel art version of my school with a top down tileset, and I'm confused by stairs:for instance,I have no clue how to make stair tiles going up from north to south.
Here are the ones going up from south to north


Also I don't know if I should add shadows on the nearby ground and from which direction it should come.

Any advice about stairs in general is welcome

It's been a while since my last pixel art,but I found some initiative and started a new one.
The character is Gon Freecs from hunter x hunter
I'm undecided if I should stick to the anime's style of lighting [Giga Gon WARNING]
(here's an example)
or try a more realistic approach
Plus I don't know how to shade the center of the jacket and the shorts.
Light source should be from the front

Don't know how to shade his robe,especially on his right sleeve and knee.
I'm not sure if it needs a third green for the skin shading and a third blue for the robe

I made a caricature of one of my friends,but I don't exactly know how to proceed,looking for advice

don't know how to texture the hair and how to apply the shading on the cheekbones and on the forhead(can't add wrinkles without making him look old)

Light is coming from the front/top
I'd like to remove it from the site when its finished
I fear what I've created :|

Pixel Art / How do I make floor tiles?

I wanted to make some floor tiles,but all of them look more like walls.
Im trying to make some graphics for a pokemon-similar game.

-The one in the middle was the first attempt,but the "bricks" were too small so I tried again
-The one on the left was my 2nd attempt,but the light direction(from above)makes it look more like a wall
-The one on the right is my latest attempt,but I still dont like it

The character's size is the same as a pokemon game character
Im using the same palette as pokemon platinum(do you know where I can find the full palette?)

It should be the floor of a sewer
Every tile should be 17x13 px
