Pixel Art / Re: Ocarina of Time sprites [WIP]
« on: March 05, 2008, 09:39:08 pm »
The WIP looks really nice. I'd have to see the rest colored to make an observation on whether or not the shading is alright.  ;D

He looks disproportionately short for his realistic head, though, almost like a caricature. His legs and arms are a bit misshapen as well.

I find explicitly discriminatory or racist things hilarious.

I'm not racist or discriminatory by credo, however I wouldn't hesitate to make a gay joke. I view all groups as equal, however some stuff is too outrageous to pass up.  :)

It must be really nice to be a straight white male and not give a damn about anybody else.

I'm actually a bisexual white male.

I know a lot of gay people as well as black people. None of them seem to care about slurs, and more often than not they are the ones to make them. We're all people. Because you are a minority doesn't mean you should be exempt from having jokes made about you - special treatment like this is the special treatment homophobes and racists give unto these select minorities.

I think you might be opting for political correctness without realizing that the minorities aren't in need of your protection.

I have a high level of empathy for everyone as well - don't go assigning behavioral flaws based on a single post. If something is going too far, it should be stopped, regardless of race or sexual orientation. No one was being harmed by that screenshot. Not even remotely.

I don't mean to derail the thread, but I've never heard the reasoning behind not AAing 45 degree angles. Is it because it just looks better? I've never really given anything the AA treatment that had 45 degree angles in it, so I wouldn't know.

Don't lengthen her bottom leg, you had it shorter because it was foreshortened.

I liked the first one a lot more. The new one looks poorly done, mainly because of the very poor selout and foreshortening, and also because it doesn't contain the same bold look of the first.

On your first one, I believe that her right foot should be darker, you should do a little dithering with a darker shade of blue, and you should fix the pillow shading on some of her limbs.

I really like this, just don't lose the initial flair you had to start with.  ;D

Actually, that's a very good observation. The statue is under some form of torque, just look at the positioning of it's legs.

General Discussion / Re: Another Pixel-Art hosting site?
« on: March 04, 2008, 10:17:29 pm »
I have yet to see a site dedicated solely to hosting Pixel Art. This could be a big hit if it's done right, as I'm fed up with photobucket, it doesn't load half of the time.

what about this:  http://imagehost.ensellitis.com/login.php

also, what about pixeljoint?

As I said, I had yet to see a site dedicated to hosting Pixel Art. Now I have, thank you. :)

Pixeljoint is a tad like DeviantArt, in the sense where when you upload something, the whole world can view it.

I'm not too creative when it comes to site features, sorry.  ::) ibito did come here wanting ideas, though, so why not try and come up with some things never done before? I really can't think of anything that hasn't been done yet.

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Woman.

Looking at the pose, it would lead me to believe that the breast, uncovered or not, should be visible.

The size doesn't matter (unless the woman is extremely flat chested), as some tissue would show. When your arm is raised, your pectorals are stretched, thereby your breast would follow in the direction of the arm.

I think Ryu's breast is a bit too big, but only by a few pixels.
