That's awesome, Snake. The only spot I have a problem with is the road in the background. It looks a little out of perspective to me. That could just be my poor skills with perspective, though.  :-[

Interesting. A bit drawn out, though. I have no experience whatsoever with film making, but there were times I considered just closing the tab. If it was just a random video I would have.

The longest part was when you set the camera.

Rubber?  :) Elaborate!

I trimmed it down by about 10 colors, can you guys give me advice on color choice?

>

I spent an hour trying out colors and then tried to sprite with the limited palette, but some parts just look wrong. Is it because I'm using the same color for the lightest outline to shade with on the inside? And those arms look wonky as well. (why does he look like he's leaning right? Is it because I didn't shade the outline correctly and it's lending more weight to the one side?)
:-[ I'll learn.

Shouldn't the bars going | vertically | on the rectangular base have some thickness on the ends? I think I can see where you tried to do it, but I can't really tell because there's not enough contrast. Maybe the more desaturated value you used on the diagonal bars would work, I'm not sure. It just doesn't feel very 3D there.

Jerry has spatula hands. Shade some fingers on his left hand!

I think photoshop might be overdoing it a little, but it all comes down to your personal preference.

I prefer Graphics Gale for pixel art, however.  ;D

Um, sorry for the off topic post. Ninjascience's advice is the best I can offer, along with shading the outline when it's near those highlights you should create.

Velcro. And is pure black a good color choice for the rope?

There's a thought. Just put a 2 pixel line on the surface of each wheel that rotates when it moves.

Note that I'm a pretty inexperienced spriter as well, but that shows an approach I've seen most spriters use when they work on things like straw, rock, or grass.

I hope it helped a little. :)

Here's a reference from Golden Sun of a straw roof. Notice how it looks natural, and they obviously started with the darker colors and highlighted from there. If you're having trouble I could do an animation showing how to build form in pixel art.
