Portfolios / Re: [Available] Pixel Artist
« on: February 23, 2022, 04:34:28 pm »
This same alleged scammer reached out to me on Discord under edwisson#5142 and via email edwisson.m.r.l@gmail.com after I posted on the Job Post board.

The reason I know this is the same person is because I recognized the references they sent me as the same stolen artwork that was on this thread and shopped around by PixelsKid. Specifically, the tiger smoking a blunt and a few tilemap images. They also have very similar typing styles.

When I called him out on this, he said "he accidentally sent me a image from his references folder rather than from his portfolio." Sketchy. So I asked him to provide me with the profiles of his previous clients so I can reach out to them directly to confirm the work, but he just made excuses about why it's difficult to reach his previous clients. The one profile he provided to me was for an inactive Venezuelan Hair Salon Instagram page that did not even post the work he claimed he was commissioned to make.

After I said I was not comfortable moving forward with him and blocked him on Discord, he sent me an angry email claiming I'm being paranoid.

Also it's worth noting that PixelsKid and pixelartist3123 are the same person (they have the same portfolio posts) and that the pixelartists3123 account was banned for stealing artwork. It's clear that this person is avoiding the ban by making multiple accounts.

I have screenshots if anyone wishes to verify this

Job offers / [Closed] Character Sprite Animation Needed
« on: February 21, 2022, 07:38:49 pm »
Howdy Pixelation ;D We are currently developing a small 2D platformer for web browsers and we're looking to have a generic character created & animated for the player character.

About Us
I am the art director for an upcoming NFT collection and we are preparing for our launch by digging into the user experience. We understand that there is skepticism and hesitancy surrounding NFT projects, however we aim to provide upfront payment, are willing to be flexible & communicative, and we are happy to address any questions or concerns you may have. We have also commissioned work from other Pixelation artists in the past.

Project Details
We've decided to create a small 2D platformer to be played in web browsers to enhance our users' experience. We are looking to have a character created for our game. This will be a rather simple and generic human character, so we are not requesting much in regards to character design or robust animations. I will list some additional details regarding the character, however I am happy to provide further references as requested.
  • Low to Medium fidelity
  • Larger than 32x32 / Smaller than 64x64
  • ~25 frames of animation (Idle, Walk, Attack, Jump, Jump Attack, Hurt)

Turnaround Time/Length
We would like to have this commission completed within 2-4 weeks and we are willing to compensate for earlier delivery.

Rates & Payment
We have a budget and we are happy and willing to work with artists' rates, such as hourly, per frame, or otherwise. We are also able to provide upfront payment. If we are happy with your work and enjoyed working with you, there is an opportunity to establish a working relationship moving forward.

Contact
Feel free to reply below if you are interested. You can also reach out to me at my email (me[at]hackjammer.online) or contact me via Discord (hackJammer#5382). If you have another preferred method of contact, let us know and we will be happy to oblige. If you are interested in this project and wish to contact us, please include some examples of your work as well.

Thank you for reading!

Job offers / [CLOSED] Background Art for Website Landing Page
« on: January 13, 2022, 03:35:21 pm »
Hello my fellow pixel enthusiasts! My partner and I are launching a website for our NFT collection and we are currently looking for an experienced background artist to create a background for the landing page of our website.

About Us
I am the lead artist on our collection we have been developing for the past several months. We are nearing the stage where we are ready to launch, so we are now focusing our attention towards building our homepage. We understand that there is skepticism and hesitancy surrounding NFT projects, however we aim to provide upfront payment, are willing to be flexible & communicative, and we are happy to address any questions or concerns you may have. We have also commissioned art from other Pixelation artists in the past.

Project Details
We are looking for background art that will be used for our vertical-scrolling landing page, meaning the background will need to be in a portrait-style orientation. The canvas size will need to be around 540x960 (I plan to upscale the art to 1080x1920). We've developed a style guide, as well as references, that we can share with you so you will have an idea of the artistic direction and fidelity we have our sights on.
Here is a draft of our website so you can get a quick feel: https://weeseeghosts.online | https://weseeghosts.online/vert/

Turnaround Time/Length
We are not on a strict deadline, however we would like to have this commission completed within 2-4 weeks if feasible.

Rates & Payment
We have an established budget and we are looking for experienced artists, so we are able to pay a $30/hr rate. Rates are negotiable and we are happy to be flexible depending on your experience, skill level, and work ethic. As stated earlier, we are happy to provide upfront payment. If we are very satisfied with your work, there is an opportunity to establish a working relationship moving forward.

Thank you all for taking the time to read!

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] Minimalistic Character Base for Platformer
« on: January 02, 2017, 08:52:47 am »
MUCH better! On to some skins!
Thanks for your feedback so far, it's much appreciated!

I created two skin tones for the mean time, I plan to add more in the future. I also created a running animation, does it seem fluid to you?

Once I solidify these changes I'll be straight for a while until there's a need for more distinct animations in my game like climbing, swimming, hiding, etc.

Happy New Year! *confetti*

I worked on the legs and a tad bit of the arms. How does this look?

if you rotate the shoulders that much then the hips should too! As it is it gives the walk a very off-balance look. Try moving the hind-leg and corresponding hip back some!
wow thanks for the reply! wasn't expecting such a quick response. Here's an updated sprite, I tried tweaking the hips and legs on certain frames like you suggested.

What do you think?

Pixel Art / [WIP] Minimalistic Character Base for Platformer

Currently working on a base character sprite for a horror platformer I'm working on, I'm aiming for a minimalist art style in order to make animations easier to handle given my semi-limited spriting background.  (note: I plan to implement character customization via sprite layers which explains why the character is naked)

Any advice or criticism on the sprite? Given that the character can be any average joe, I want to keep the character's stance relatively reserved but I think the stance and animations can look a bit more natural however I'm not sure how to accomplish that exactly. I've been working at the pixels for hours now so I can use a fresh set of eyes and some critique. I'd appreciate any and all feedback.
