General Discussion / Re: Pixel Artist Interviews (nvision)

Can I suggest keeping a short leash on the "..."? =) It is a good tool to get people talking in an interview, but when you use it every time you say something, it either sounds like you are trying to create false suspense, or you have ADD and keep wandering away from the computer ;)

Very nice interview =D

can any one help me or give me any tips?

Best tip I can give you is: do it yourself and then show us. It doesn't matter if it's terrible. You have to try to do it yourself, otherwise you are just telling other people what to draw.

Go try to improve the building, then post your best attempt, no matter how bad it is. =)

Well buildings aren't my thing, and iso is even less my thing, because iso buildings usually end up looking like what you have now: just a cube in iso format.

You could spruce it up by:

- adding texture to the one-color walls (is the building made out of a single sheet of nonreflective metal?)

- letting us see something happening through those windows

- adding spruces (or other scenery/etc around the place)

You have captured the essence of a modern office building -- a big ol' square. And it's as good a template as one could ask for =) now customize it a bit and make it cool =D

(adding more buildings around it will also make it cooler, but not if they are also undetailed boxes -- that's why I recommend making this building special before you add to your city).

I think I like desaturated better than I would a saturated version -- but in any event,

it does looks like you just drew a two-armed man and then stuck two more arms on him. It seems to me that a four-armed man would have a slightly different anatomy about the shoulders. Do you know what I mean? (ie, the extra two arms don't influence the other two arms at all (I can easily erase the extra arms in my mind and then he looks perfectly normal -- they're kind of like plastic wings).

No suggestions on making it better, of course. *shameful face*

Helm, I think that he was under the impression that

"COMEBACK: IMPOSSIBLE"

meant,

"I am declaring the following as a comeback: it is impossible for me to shut up."

I interpreted it as an oblique reference to a famous movie I have never seen.

Which one of us is right? Does anybody care? I am finished now?

What are you asking, br3ttie? Are you asking us for help on making that big blocky outline into a big UN-blocky outline? Or are you asking us for help on making better outlines that are still blocky like that? Or are you wondering why pixel pictures get blocky when you resize them?

Restate your goals and we can answer your questions better =)

Right.  I have the body moving up and down, and the arms moving.  I just didn't lift the legs up like it's running.

Stand up and walk, paying careful attention to your feet. Do they glide effortlessly across the ground, or do you pick them up? Even when you don't run, sliding feet don't make sense (they're possible, but they don't make sense, even for a robot -- too much effort).

one thing i noticed was the hand but i couldnt figure out why it looked odd..now i know though, its because hes punching with his fingers.  image what would happen if you punched like that? needless to say yuo wouldnt be typing a response lol.  punches should more or less lead with the first knuckles, not the fingers themselves

Art of the Knife Hand ^_^ it works!
