I tried to adress the crits I got and changed some of the stuff that wasn't originaly mine, like the E-tank and HPbar.

Aaand.. the boss:

I call 'her' Snow Woman.. for now (name pending) :P

I gotta be honest, neither the sprite nor the portrait pic looks like a woman. The shape of the sprite isn't really "femme", and the face in the portrait looks rather masculine.

The levels you made though are fantastic!

Thank you Ryona, I can see what you mean and I agree with you. I tried my best to fix it and hopefully it looks better now:

Hey, I'm stopping by to post some mockups I did today, for this challenge.
It's been a year or so since my last post, so noone probably remembers me. :)

So here's.. well, the mockups :P

I tried to stay true to the original megaman art. Obviously Mega man's sprite + the HPbar/E-tank and the bullets aren't original, however
I can assure you the rest is! :[

Also them yellow thingies in the mugshot are the blinking sprite thingies you see while you're selecting a boss.

Thank you Adarias, I can see your point. To be honest, my last update makes me laugh since I can see most of my problems now :P Thank you for taking your time with that edit!

Vertigo-zero: I agree thet it looks better, but then again I agree to Helm. Anime is the plague and I will never touch it again. ;P

I'm still working on it, it's just that I've been busy with other things for awhile - which is  the reason for my late update. Anyway here it is:

Cheers, Arachne. I agree that she was starting to look very masculine. And your edit was very helpful!
I changed the arm back again because I too liked it better that way :P

Thank you Feron for your comment.

I did some more work. especially on her arm. Tell me if you still think it looks odd, if you do, please make me an edit and I might understand it a bit better.

I started to redo this 'thing' yesterday. It's not done yet but I'm just posting this up to let you now that I'm not letting this pixel die just yet. I'm here to learn after all.

Any crits on my progress so far would be nice.

what is going on at the bottom lip? What are you trying to signify there? It's unclear.
I think the rendering goes towards too dark on the shaded hips. The texture and its shading do not mesh.
left (ours) gun hand elbow seems to suggest you're masking significant anatomical problems with clothing and accessories. The abdominal anatomy too, and definitely the knees. You've got lengths of the body down mostly okay, but you're not sure what the flesh bags have in them and how to approach those volumes. What you need to do is strip away the inessential until you arrive at the essential. Forget about anime chicks and fancy costumes and guns and look at the human form as a collection of primitive volumes under lighting conditions. When you have that down, start thinking about bones and muscles and fat and how they interact. Do life studies. Buy an art book. Don't learn art from anime and videogames.

Actually i'm staying away from both anime and vgart when i'm studying anatomy or anything art related for that matter. I'm probably doing it way less than I actually need to or even want to. Thank you Helm for pointing these things out, thats definately what I needed to hear to get my ambition up to study more. Off I go to study. :)

Thank you both, thats exactly the kind of critique I like!
An update:

I changed the guns. I like them more this way and I also changed some colors like you suggested, so I think the color count is down to 18 now.

I decided to post some pixelart. So far it's 20 colors.. could probably be reduced to even less and i'm kind of sceptic when it comes to her weapons, so they'll probably be changed.
So have fun and crit away! :)
