I'm not very good at this spriting thing, tried to make a walk loop nonetheless. Any advice?

Pixel Art / Understanding shading
« on: April 06, 2017, 12:15:32 am »
I've read the theory, you have to look at the light source and apply it to the object's shape, the farther the darker, different objects take on light on different ways, but in practice the truth is that i feel no matter how good i get at lineart I just can't improve on shading/coloring.  I made this...decent room between yesterday and today:

This is what happened when i tried to start coloring it:

Any advice?

Made a simple jumping animation. Is her arm movement too jarring?
