Pixel Art / Re: Freaky alien characters [WIP]

The monsters look really great. I think they could use a bit more contrast.

If you wanted to make it more flesh colored, then what you have at the moment is a little too purple.
Like so.

I think the crocodile lady needs an overhaul. She doesn't look very interesting, especially compared to the monsters.

Love this!

One suggestion.
The lighting on the hand holding the lantern is a bit strange.
A. Make it wrap the forms a bit better.
B. The part of the fingers that's closest to the light seems to be the darkest. I think you've got it all the wrong way around. I'm not extremely fond of that yellow either but that's just me.

It's pretty rare that I take the time to do a drawing from start to finish, so this probably looks pretty shoddy.

A bit better?

With the other character, I would really like to get his eye and mouth to look more like it does in the original drawing.

Is this getting better?

I'm really stumped on how to approach its mid-section.

Here's the original sketch, in case it's too ambiguous. The teeth in particular might not read as well.

Taking much advice from Terley, how's it looking at the moment?

Thanks heaps Terley.
Your edit helps SO much! I'll have to work on some more.

Thanks for the advice Big Brother, love your work.

I'm still considering sticking with the original resolution since I spent so much time on it.
Here is his latest incarnation.

Hey, I really like this piece.
This isn't a great edit. I messed up a few things, it's late and I'm tired.
Hopefully it's self explanatory but if you want me to explain some of my changes let me know. It was mainly that they needed to be closer and the birds left arm was too high. The right arm isn't too bad but the whole body is in a strange position, mine isn't much better.

Okay. Well, I persevere.

I want to make it a lower resolution.
I'm completely in the dark here because I've never done this before. So any light that anyone could shed would be GREATLY appreciated.
