Pixel Art / Can someone point me to a BG style that matches these sprites.

These are some older fan sprites I have made. Feel free to give advice on how to improve upon this style. Some sprites are not consistent, this is because I made some of them randomly without thought.

Anyway, I feel this style is best for a sidescroller. But, I do enjoy the older Serra and Lucas arts style works. I am shit at backgrounds. I need an example, if that's alright, a background style that would work with sprites in this style. Something to study.

SO ive been working on some pixel lettering. Everything is custom except for the small fonts on the bottom. Tell me wut to do. Or if its goood enough.

Its well... you see... a friend of mine designed a character based off 80's rockers. He said "Make him scandalous!"
Anyway. So far i got this. ANyway, instead of spending all that time trying to fix my screw ups later I kinda hope
to get help early from some nice outside sources. 

Here it is.. oh god, dat walk. Its all bowie looking lol. I was listening to lucifers palace smt song while drawing it.

So I have this guy thats in the game. He looks like this I guess. SO, uhh. If you see something that needs fixing or have any animation recamendations... gimmie. Anyway... uhh, what impression do you get from the face of this character?




(Sorry his sprites look like poo. Im lazy. This should be good enough.)
I havent been posting much cause of finals. Dont got a lot of time to work on my project lately. OOOH WELL>

Pixel Art / Band, advice maybe.... please?

This is just a basic concept, didnt work to hard on it. Before I finish them up I want to know if they look to much like the band I based them off of. NO wait... any likness is purely coincidental....  ::) heh.. heheh.

I dont know what to name the band, I havent drawn the drummer, pianist, and base guitarist cause they use the same sprite base as the guitarists.

Before I go to deep into this uhh.. thing, I would like to know if it looks ok. That is, if you guys can tell what its supposed to be. Someone thought it was a cake lol. I used the Sacred Grounds as a Reference, I dont have the img.

Its a sprial downaward with gray waterfalls, various purple paths and grass, red rocks. There will be evil loking plants and weird cave structurs in the cave parts of it. The bottom of it will have a gray tree on a small island. Ill post the rest later, for now I just want to make sure this is correct before I do more.

So I made this, I guess Ill post it before I do to many animations for it. I dont know. Im working on a evil garden backround right now so. Anyway, feel free to tear it up. I wont shade the character, I actually want to finish this game lol. BUt I dont mind putting a bit more effort into it. Let me know if he looks to much like another character. Im not trying to rip anyone off.   :D

So The rooms... they kinda made the house look all long and stuff. Watever, Ill just have when the player leaves he can only see the front... yea. Thats how you win.... Anyway. Oh, god I spent more time on that bathroom than I thought I would. It dosnt even look that nice. I thought meh... big toilet And damn the living room lamp, I was to lazy to fix it just for an example lol....


Im working harder on this than I intended. I wish I could do bgs as well I do sprites. Oh man. I still have to do like... 18 different areas.







LOL I forgot to put the living room on the map. It should be easy to figure out where it goes though

Ive uhh. Made a tree, and a bush... There is a lot more outside in the game... I just wanted to make sure my basic tree and bush looked ok. Someone once told me my trees looked like something on fire lol.

Also toilet. Im still working on the house, uhh I guess if I take all the advice given in that last post I could put a bathroom in the master bedroom. Uhh, is this a good toilet? Wow. thats the question of the century isnt it.
