Ah, and now you've made things difficult. :P I was going to post yet another "I liked the tentacles ones better" reply, but now, seeing the new ones coloured and detailed... I dunno. It's a tough call.
I agree with Camus that the floaty tentacles had that nice, spirally, eye directing flow, but the newer ones are far cleaner, and what though I wasn't so into the torso at first, I'm loving how it's turning out.
Anyway, I now prefer the new one, so... yes.
By the way, is the part you added to the right of the head its mouth, or...? Looks a little to me like a head in profile, which would be pretty badass on the design front, imo

hey Silver, you got some nice stuff going on here. I'm really liking your colours, specially on the KOS guy and the pink cowboy.
I'd second the anatomy comments though. You seem to have a pretty good basic grasp of how the body's put together, but there are some things that could use some tweaking (what sreally ticks out for me is the flat look of the KOS guy's pecs).
Very nice pixels. Keep 'em coming ;)

Good god, man... wow. I'm sorry I won't be able to give you any relevant crits on this... it's all so smooth and pretty :D
If you manage to do all of the hair as awesomely as you did the finished bit over the eye, I will marry you whether you like it or not.

Only thing I'd change is the colour of the tear duct (?) the... er... eye thing to more of a pinkish, natural colour. Something about the bottom of the nose seems a bit off, too... like maybe we should be able to see a bit more defined nostril or something ('cause, y'know, nostrils are sexy).  ;) You might have already mentioned the nose thing though.

I'm really digging the colours of the lips, and of the, uh, all of it.

Hehe either you guys are quick, or I'm a blatant plagiarist. Your influence comments were spot on (one having a huge Shaun complex, the other having been made after some time w/ dig dug) .

Zach: Heh I think the death anim's my favorite, but the blinky disappearance at the end was kind of a cop-out, wouldn't you agree? :P.
Dunno what to say about the colourful guys. Any suggestions on making them more animated'd be awesome.

Dhaos: I think the firing this was meant to be a bit of a gag thing, but it's also a result of trying to make the firing pose fit easily with the standing/walking poses.

Esker: You got it ;) The walk isn't finished. I'm considering whether or not to leave the arms as a separate object/sprite for easy 360* aiming in the game that'll probably never get made.

So don't worry Dhaos, I'll slap some arms on him at some point! Oh yeah, and the dither on the pants. Heh I can only assume you mean the squiggly green blob on the closest leg? Yeah, it's a typo...a big scribbly green pixel typo (what, they exist!) in need of massive cleaning. I'm on it!

Exam time, and I have horrible study habits.
My theory is everyone does the zombie thing at some point, so I might as well get it over with:

Some little colourful guys who'd probably be in some kind of game if I weren't so lazy:

And.. uh... miscellaneous?:

C&C will earn you love, so take that for what it's worth ;D.
I'm so going to fail.

Damn, that does look a lot better. Thanks Helm!
I think it might be a good idea for me to do a major reworking on this, after doing a little more anatomy study. I did the face first and liked it, so I threw it on a body, forgetting that my grasp on anatomy is.. er... questionable at best. Heh, this could end up being a good learning experience if nothing else.
Anyhoo... I'm gonna put this on hiatus for a bit, 'cause it's exam season and I feel like I should at least pretend to study..
Thanks again for all the help guys, I'll be updating this again soon as I'm free. Feel free to keep criting in the meantime, though. I'll still be checking in ;)

Bumped for update. Since it's a pretty big image, I'm just going to be putting the newest one in the first post, and post links to the older versions.

Edit: Forgot to thank everyone for the crits! :P Thanks guys. These are exactly the kindof pointers I'm looking for at this stage.
Oh, and it'll eventually be a sword if i decide to keep it , Pawige. It's all looking a bit clichéd atm though, so I might scrap some parts. :P

Pixel Art / -NUDITY WARNING- Formerly Green Woman WIP
« on: April 06, 2006, 01:01:12 am »
Hey guys, got a new piece I've been working on for a couple of days, and I thought I'd post it for crits before I go any further. I think, at this point, anatomy is what needs the most work, the legs/lower body particularly, but I'd like to hear some outside opinions.

Older Versions:

Current:

New one's pretty much a complete overhaul of the palette. Hopefully some anatomy stuff was righted ,too.
Note that it's meant to give a VERY rough idea of the direction I plan on taking this. I made this edit really quickly, and I'm noticing some sloppiness that wasn't there before (some of the more 'finished' parts got a bit screwed up). I don't know how much I like this new palette either, but it could just be the crappy background that's throwing me.

C64 stuff always impresses me, and so does your work, far as I've seen it, in any form, so I'll spare you the gushery... :P
But, seeing as I don't really understand C64 stuff (can't get a grasp on doing it myself), it's hard for me to crit this from a technical standpoint. If it helps, the artwork on its own is fantastic.
