Pixel Art / Future Fantasy *Updated 06/15/06*
« on: June 05, 2006, 05:55:13 am »

Previous versions :

Added a new guy and updated the ol' orc. I've started making animations for a game based on these designs, but the way I've done it (in pieces) makes posting the sprites hard. I'm workin' on it though.

For now, crits will make me happy, and you wouldn't want me to be sad would you?  :-*

Pixel Art / EFF YOU, mister dragonface! *Updated 06/01/06*
« on: June 01, 2006, 01:00:24 am »
I got sick of the piece I was working on with the dragon, so I started doodling something about robots instead:

I just finished reading A Clockwork Orange, and started with the centre guy (formerly a disembodied head) whose headgear was inspired by the whole Ludovico thing. Then I thought "no, wait, robots are cooler", and this happened.

Some stuff I've noticed even now (after uploading, before posting) still needs work. Some better AA, massive 'tweaking' on the foremost robot, and... stuff... so yeah.

Please viddy and crit profusely droogs.

I've been to work:

Argh! (with backgorund):

Trying to work with a limited palette. Obviously pretty WIPped, as it needs alot of cleaning up, but I like it so far.
He's sad because he's not finished! I guess I'm really looking for opinions on the overall form and stuff, and how to go about finishing this. Background? No? New palette? No palette (I like a challenge)? Crit me with whatever you've got, I dare you!

Mainly I think it's the wings that need the most work (colour wise), as I'm honestly pretty happy with the body. So, yeah... yay!

Christ, I'm tired of looking at this one. fed up with attempting the background, so what you see above is the best my frustrated mind has been able to produce to date. This is not pretty, and I am quite displeased by it... :(

Anyway, crits, comments, all that stuff. Still looking for 'em! ;D

Pixel Art / Death rides a substitute...

...or "the new guy's an ass".  ::)
The problem with being the immortal lord of death is that your trusty steed has to be replaced every dozen years or so. This time, all the horses were on vacation... in Tijuana... so the good old Grim ended up riding a pale mule instead.

Final(?) Version:

Tell me what needs fixing so I can prevent unnecessary suckage.

Thanks to all for the excellent crits. Unless there are still glaring flaws I think I'll call it done.

Pixel Art / The ULTIMATE combination?

I wanted to do something a bit weirder and more restricted palette-wise, and this is the result: a partially cybernetic ex-ninja vampire pirate.

8 colours. C&C?

« on: April 29, 2006, 12:42:34 pm »
Ran out of ideas and decided to colour some of my old lines.

I dunno. I was happy with the skin, then not so much the clothes... but they've kinda grown on me, so she's ok maybe. :P
Crits, comments? They're more than welcome, as always.

(special thanks to David, whose take on these lines got me motivated :D)

Pixel Art / Groovy!
« on: April 20, 2006, 05:43:20 pm »
Started with a random sketch which, for some reason, reminded me of Earthworm Jim, who I was then destined to pixel. :P

I'm actually pretty happy with this (mainly 'cause of the palette), and despite my recent habits, will actually  be working on this in the future. On that note, thanks and apologies to anyone who's posted crits in my last threads to no avail. I only really pixel for fun at this point, so if I get bored of a piece... y'know.  :-\

Older versions:

Current Version:

I have a step-by-step animation (it was up briefly), but the gif animator I have ruins the palette. Anyone know of a good (read: free) one that won't do that?

Pixel Art / 11 reasons why I'll probably never have a job
« on: April 11, 2006, 12:18:16 am »
Exam time, and I have horrible study habits.
My theory is everyone does the zombie thing at some point, so I might as well get it over with:

Some little colourful guys who'd probably be in some kind of game if I weren't so lazy:

And.. uh... miscellaneous?:

C&C will earn you love, so take that for what it's worth ;D.
I'm so going to fail.

Pixel Art / -NUDITY WARNING- Formerly Green Woman WIP
« on: April 06, 2006, 01:01:12 am »
Hey guys, got a new piece I've been working on for a couple of days, and I thought I'd post it for crits before I go any further. I think, at this point, anatomy is what needs the most work, the legs/lower body particularly, but I'd like to hear some outside opinions.

Older Versions:

New one's pretty much a complete overhaul of the palette. Hopefully some anatomy stuff was righted ,too.
Note that it's meant to give a VERY rough idea of the direction I plan on taking this. I made this edit really quickly, and I'm noticing some sloppiness that wasn't there before (some of the more 'finished' parts got a bit screwed up). I don't know how much I like this new palette either, but it could just be the crappy background that's throwing me.

Some new stuff, most of which is unfinished and sloppy, and Dragonface is the only one that I put an acceptable effort into.
Ah well, crits and etcetera always appreciated.

Just ignore the face in the lower right corner, as it makes me cry and feel ashamed. :P

Edit: Something happened to this pic and only this pic apparently, cause all my others are still working... huh.
