Pixel Art / Re: [C+C] Robot Outlaw

I first off want to say that I love the character. The hat is great.

The only thing I would suggest is having the arms come out from the sides of the character rather than the back. You can't really tell for the gun holding arm, but stand up and pretend you are holding a gun like the robot is, it would feel very awkward to hold your off arm straight behind you.

Try moving it a bit forward and have it overlay his body a bit, maybe being able to see the underside of the parka a bit.

Good luck :) I hope that you keep sharing more characters with us.

Here is an image I found to help explain it a bit.

The tower in the background is what is comparable to your city. This image uses some sort of lake to bridge the gap between the foreground and the background. In your case I am assuming it would be land bridging this gap, so having trees or something similar in between the two would work pretty well. Make sure to make everything the correct size so that the houses in relation are also correct. You don't want them to appear too big or too small.

Good luck though Curly, I look forward to seeing where you go with this.

Pixel Art / Re: Tiny Coffee Cup

Cup seems to get wider on frames 2 , 3, 4.

Isn't super noticeable at first but after watching it a few times it pops out at me. Then again I was also eyeing the cup since that is what the post is about.

I really like the character though.

Hey, I am liking the third one the best with the 4th close to it. Both are fitting the style you seem to be going for.

My mane reason to post though was to get you out of MS Paint, I encourage you to try out paint.net, a great free program for pixel art that I have been using for a few years now. It also can be used for non-pixel art pieces, has a lot of effects and stuff.

Here is a quick mock up that I did. I agree with the post above that you should try to use less colors for your sake, and your arts sake.

I am not the best artist and there is still a bunch of improvement to be made with my work, but hopefully I can share what I do know. After working on a NES jam where I was limited to the NES color pallete, I had to work with a very small pallete and it is some of the most challenging yet best pixel are i have ever made.

Good luck op.

Try adding some texture to the side of the buildings. Just a slightly darker color to make the image feel fuller and a little more crowded. As a city should feel  ;D

You could also try to add destruction to the city if it is being bombed (I assume that is what is happening at the moment), so some explosions to catch the viewers eye.

I really enjoy the piece though, the colors are very appealing and go together very well
