i think your colored image is pretty good,
just make sure you dont make the upper leg too thin:

im not sure if game sprites are the best way to learn anatomy,
but if you want they have alot of game sprites over here:

looking for some feedback on this house:

i feel like maybe the roof doesnt quite fit the rest of the house, even though i worked like 3 hours on it :p

For your first question, i would hide the windows until the player needs them,
you could create buttons with little icons for the backpack, notepad ,etc.

is the notepad only used for item descriptions? if thats the case you can save alot of space by just showing a tooltip when the player hovers over the item.

i think you can make it more interesting by adding some secondary animations, like eye blinking and arms swinging

Thanks for the advice, added an extra shade and more of a clear lightsource.

looking to improve the tree above,

i still want it to be without outline, and sortof muted like the grass (pretty happy how that turned out).

any feedback is appreciated ;)
