It has so much life and personality! I love it! The colors are spot on! I particularly love the dust effect!

Oh that's great! Thank you! I'll definitely use that to practice more.

So I took both bits of advice into consideration, added a tiny bit of fur depth, kept the body fur entirely because, well, it just looks amazing and I hope to learn from it (fur and hair textures are difficult for me), and added a darker shade to the armor to create a more defined light source. Thoughts?

Thank you for the help! The light source was the largest hurdle and I still need to do some changing here. Like you said, the light source doesn't seem defined on the armor, but I did intend for it to be to the front and right of the rat. I think it came out clearest on the buckler, but I'm not sure how to figure out the armor. There's not a lot of references for that style outside of me trying to stack things IRL.

I'll be adding a background later but I'm particularly happy with the way he's coming out now. I feel like there's something wrong with the shine on the armor though, and, well, I'm still getting a grasp for color theory. It feels unified but not as vibrant as I want it to be? I dunno.

These are lovely! I really like the cloud cover, you've really given the planets personality.

I love it! Huge fan of the game myself. I love anything Victorian/Lovecrafty really. I see what you mean by tiles and the style is perfect. The simplification and GBA elements make the game feel even more classic and like, Halloween-like, if that makes sense. Something I noticed though, minor detail: the roof to the well, because it's missing the outline on that primary vertical line on the left, it feels like a piece of the art got clipped.

So this was a pugilist I threw together after landing on a random roll in a thread. I don't think it's the style direction I want to go in, but I figure it's worth posting anyway. I do like the way it came out, it's a little incomplete, but, well, tell me what you guys think!

I like it! It looks like a fireball sprite launched in a fighting game. That said, is it upside down? I can see what you mean in that it doesn't look like a standing fire itself, but it's definitely a start.

Welcome and happy pixeling! I think the rock looks good in terms of color and gentle dithering, but it could use a little bit more definition to make it look like a rock. It's too smooth as it stands and could use more jagged edges and irregular points. Throw in a bit of randomness to add depth and interest and you'll have yourself a definite rock.
