Agreed more lighting and form study + references would greatly help you enhance this piece.

What is it? There are a lot of colour values on here.

I'm not seeing any image, can you try uploading it again? I click "Get share link" and then "bb code" box and copy the whole thing in after uploading to imgur.

I think the white rectangle is a hole. But it is a little strange that you don't see his hand behind it.

The whole idea about the technique is to try and get you thinking in 3 dimensions, and from there to be able to draw from memory. Currently you are entirely limited to 2 dimensions in your thought process.

Hey I was following the old thread before and think the design is really cool. I think it's better to keep posting follow-ups in the same thread so they can easily be read through.

But since it's here (maybe an admin can move it), I would say that this design and style is really awesome. You just need to keep pushing it to sell it. Make it look like it is standing in an environment - add some background and more unified and interesting lighting. Work on the silhouette a bit - if that is rusted metal it would have parts completely corroded off it. Otherwise if it's a good condition robot it wouldn't be fully rusty. Really try to get that kind of thought cemented in the piece.

I think the hand is fine, just needs some shading. Maybe the wrist could be a little thinner.

Also in terms of design, that gun is cool, but I don't think it matches his japanese influence - it's a bit too much of a stretch. Maybe shape the gun more to look like traditional japanese swords or items, or get rid of it altogether for more traditional weapons.

Agreed, keep it up. You're using much better colours and contrast now. The cup handle could be a little thicker.

Yes I believe I am talking about making that more noticable. I am imagining internal reflections plus reflection from a lighter ground colour below it combined with subsurface scattering due to the opaqueness of the slime blob. It would really light it up from the edges/ground plane. Here are some real world examples of what I mean (if the image breaks, google subsurface scattering grapes):

I think the outline looked fine, but the gun is still shrinking into the arm. There should always be a fixed distance from the elbow to the gun casing at the wrist.

Yeah really cool for youngster's game. I'd move the eyes up just a little, but that's personal preference.
