Well, I just finished one of my first large-scale commissions, but it seems like they're going to refuse to pay me at this point. Pretty bummed out and considering never doing it again. . .

So I thought I'd ask to hear some of pixelation's horror stories with commissions gone wrong. Let's hear em!

Couple pieces for a scene that I've been messing around with. I've enjoyed the style, but I'm not too sure I've nailed it directly on the head, so any help is appreciated.

The main thing that I would like critique on is this guy, who would be the player character in the mockup. For reference, he's supposed to be a robot in a sombrero and mexican outlaw's outfit:

General Discussion / Extracting a Color Pallet

I'm looking for Symphony of the Night's full color pallet. Haven't been able to find it online, yet. I've been going through every available sprite sheet, pulling out each pallet there, but it's somewhat painstaking and I'm sure I'm missing some colors that way.

Anybody know where I can find the full pallet?
or where/how I can easily extract the full pallet from sprite sheets?

Pixel Art / Muscle definition

This week, I've been messing around with character designs. I've got a very basic walk animation done. 8 frames, based around the Castlevania series sprites.

I'm going to make my guy naked, so that I can apply different sets of equipment to him in-game, but I figured I'd get a bit of feedback on detailing body muscle before I jump in.

I've been working on a design for my game's HUD. It's gone through a few stages so far, starting from a clunky, over-sized, grey design to its current version.

Hey everybody! I've been a lurker for quite a while now, and recently put up an ad in search of a pixel artist to help with my game. Haven't had any luck, but I've been working on improving my own skills since then. I've got a few mob designs and some basic environment sprites done, and thought I'd share.
