You've still got some black outlines in there that should be eliminated, like on the clothes basket (?) in the upper left corner and bookshelf. Anyway, excellent improvement from the first version, the shadows give the image a much more realistic and cozy feel.

Yea, the camo was pretty good ;)

I think the train should be a lot dirtier and rustier, that would give it more life. It looks really sterile right now. Add some scratches and dents!

It's actually 3D I believe, because it supported 3Dfx cards. So I guess it had some polygons in it for the buildings.

Yea, I was wondering if you could pull it off with a Pole Position-style 2.5D engine, but I don't think convincing buildings would be possible in that case.

I couldn't decide on a palette, the spinach one is the one I was working with, and after I was finished, I decided to apply one of the palettes from the example screenshots.

You shouldn't upload BMP to the web anyway, convert to GIF or PNG instead. It's pretty much impossible to crit pixel work as JPG. Check out http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=3466.0

Pretty awesome work here, especially the leaves! I noticed that the left and right border of the tile don't quite match up if you looked closely, I tried to address that in a small edit here:

It's kind of funny how people keep reading my nick the wrong way, it's robot riot actually. I've had it since 8 or 9 years (before that, I used a different nick for Quake), and it was just a combination of words which I though sounded cool (plus I'm a big robot fan). Also, I used to spell it R0b0TR10T because of the binary thing there, which everyone thought was supposed to be part of the 1337-bandwagon.

Here's an animation we created in a couple of days (that's why it doesn't contain a lot of animation actually ;) featuring ... robots. There's a download link for a better quality version if you care enough about the actual video (it's pretty pointless on youtube).
