Pixel Art / Re: Kitchen Knight: Art & Animation Critique
« on: October 06, 2018, 07:11:23 pm »
This is looking great! The cape to apron addition is really cool, the insignia on it feels a bit off though, the straight white lines of it clash a lot with the nice natural shapes of the rest of the sprite. I would try a few alternatives with smaller and perhaps more subtle colours. Keep up the good work :D

Eishiya's edit nails it! Doesn't change the character style at all but makes the head/hair shape much more natural.
Try not to get so defensive with critiques dude ;)

Cool, that's working.  Horse is looking less flat now which is good! I feel the mane and tail could do with the same treatment. I think you could still push the contrast further too.

The background stuff feels like it has a bit too much prominence as well.  The mountain and burning village don't feel as far away as I think you're meaning them to be.

Wow! Looks so much better than the first post. Good job! I'm liking the style, there's a few readability issues though.  The shaft of the wizards staff blends in with the background, the same with the mace on the dude next to him (and all of mace mans clothes).  If that's a chest under one of the lamps it feels quite small, it looks like it could fit about two of your mice in it, at a push.
Everyones posture looks pretty stiff too. Hope that helps, keep up the good work!

Looks good! Could maybe up the contrast between the 3 different windmill colours.  The colour choices feel a bit dull too, but it still looks nice.

This very much sounds like a request for someone to do this for you.  Try posting your attempts at animations and we can provide feedback on how they can be improved.

Hi, it would help to have a bit more context about what it is your drawing, I see they are faces, but are they just regular human faces or are they robot/cyborg faces?
Tell us what you were trying to achieve and where you think it's working/not working.  I would suggest starting with a smaller canvas though, these are pretty big faces and I think the same visual message of them currently could be conveyed with something about 8 times smaller.

Here is a similar sized example to highlight what you can fit in that size canvas

Pixel Art / Re: [C+C] Sunken Ruins

Ah ok, with the current scale of things the ruins don't look like a safe hiding spot, the dragon could definitely have a good go at getting him there.

I think you need to add some darker and lighter shades to your colours all around, this will help make the image feel more dynamic.

Pixel Art / [C+C] Amusement park mockup
« on: July 25, 2016, 06:40:32 pm »
Hi all!
I started an amusement park game a couple of years ago and did a bunch of graphics for it, I'm now thinking about getting back on the project and try and get it to a playable state.
I've been looking over the stuff I made and I'm still pretty happy with it overall, just wanted to get some feedback if there's anything I can improve.

I've been playing about with the shadows, originally I just had them on the trees, but I've added some to the people too, but I'm kinda thinking it should be everything has shadows or nothing does, but when I add it to some of the bigger objects it feels a bit overpowering, so not sure what to do there.  Thanks for looking!

Edit: ugh I think imgur compressed my image, will fix tomorrow! Edit 2: hmm maybe it's just on mobile, let me know if I need to upload somewhere else!
