No idea who the guy in the middle is but I'm going to say... it's some famous artist that I don't know of.  ::)

The hippo part isn't implemented too well. But I see where you're going.
The legs, especially the toes, look deformed and distorted. Maybe you can work on that.
And just to save you the trouble:  :D


I know that you are going for a cartoonish style/look, and it's great - let me tell you. But still, I think that if you work on the legs to make them look more real it would show more as a Hippopotomoose.
Great job, great consept, great idea, great style!  8)
