Oh well they just use to kick button ha-ha sorry about that. Like Street fighter the punch and kick buttons but his legs are too small to kick with so he punches even with the kick button.

Oh well his defend is more like a Street fighter defend where the frame is just held there. But yea if it wasn't like a Street fighter game then yea that would be cool.
Ok completed Halberd's kick attacks.

Kick - Halberd's does a four fist sledgehammer punch on his opponent.

Forward Kick - Halberd's horns take full spin and drill into his enemies.(4 hits like Chaoxys forward punch)

Backward Kick - Halberd's horns become a beheading guillotine to chop his competitors down to size.

Thanks man. Yea I can't seem to get him to look more like he's swinging with only 4 frames.

Making progress. Got all Halberd's punch attacks done!
(The other character's do not belong to me)

Punch1- It's a two hitting punch. Both hits equal up to 1 strong hit. Also you just press punch once and both fists fly.

Punch1 & 2- Press punch twice and four fists fly  making a 4 hit combo. The four hits count as 2 strong hits.

Forward Punch- A lunging blade attack. Every knight needs a blade and Halberd's horns provide plenty a weaponry. (If it moves too slow you can take out the 3rd frame)

Backward Punch- Reverse Horn blade, knocks opponent into the air.(Works just like Gilbert's Back Punch)

Was there a 3D model used as reference for these animations ?They seem very structured.

These are some movement animations I made for the beetle. I named him Halberd.

The green squares are all the things I have completed on the list.

Idle- Halberd rocks back and forth by swinging his clunky arms.

Forward Walk- Halberd takes heavy steps towards his opponent. (All that weight makes for awkward locomotion)

Backward Walk- A beetle's instinct his to scurry back when in danger.

Duck- To evade damage and also used as an aggressive stance.

Forward Jump- It's a beetles nature to take flight( it should move at that speed, and loop last two frames for wing effect)

Backward Jump- On the flip side...

Defend- Wings become this knight's sheild. (This is how ChrisTwoBalls says hi)

Duck Defend- Those wings are pretty versatile

Banding. I'm still unsure what that is. It's like a shading thing right?

Yea someone mentioned that it reminds them of the beetle from megaman x3. It's actually for a forum fighting game made out of members from the site. So yea there were color restrictions and detail restrictions but I think he came out decent in the style.

Thanks, I'm glad it provided some motivation that's awesome. I would also love to make the bug sprite smaller but I keep thinking the design would lost detail.

So I should keep the lighter shade clusters the same shape? I'm new to clusters and banding and all this stuff. I've seen these words like one time  :-[

But yea the left/his right leg lighter shade does jump around I didn't notice until you said something. And the legs are noodly? How and how do I make em less...noodly?
