How many years/decades are you willing to devote to this project? ;)

Love that last one. So cool.

Thanks :) I should add some kind of text to add a narrative element and make it more tumblr friendly.

What are the two lumps in the forehead supposed to be? Look a bit hellboy- ish.
Well, your problem is a drawing problem not so much a pixel art problem. I recommend looking at the basic Loomis stuff and what not. The first thing you could do is to divide the face into thirds. Check out this video on how:

Also I don't think you're quite ready yet to invent light sources. Pick one reference and stick to it :)

Nice! Maybe add some more subtle hair animation, she's kind of gyroscoping her head like a owl  ;D which isn't impossible, but might make it look a little more natural

I get what you mean, but I can't avoid: http://gph.is/1TD8jKk hahahaha

Haha, I was more thinking along these lines:

By the way didn't mean to derail your thread with the diversity discussion, I'll shut up now :-X Looking forward to your updates

Nice and smooth. I really like the way you have looped the frames.
Although, I have to ask. Is the intention to make it look comical rather than attractive?
It reminds me of the british tongue in cheek demo scene era stuff. If that's your intention, I think the animation is perfect. The shading looks great too. On the other hand, if your aim is to make it hot you have a lot to work on. The extreme bounce and separation makes it looks like she is extremely skinny fat and have a flabby pancake ass, kind of like an infant. The hip tilt and cat walk strut is perfect though.
It is meant as a music video for hip hop. I don't understand why it can't be both. :( hehe, nah, I toned it down a bit in the newer iterations.

Very impressive update! Still think it's missing a bit of mass, but the animation is great. Did you use any reference? It almost has a rotoscoped look to it.

With this in mind, I would love to see more diversity among them. Don't know if this is something you consider. To give them different body types or more skin colours.

Why? This isn't tumblr  ;)
Diversity for diversity's sake is overrated

It depends on the intentions of OP. I like the consistent thicc look myself and it works well in pixel art imo

Well some people actually like diversity, so there's no need to start something here.
What the op does or doesn't do is entirely up to him, but people are allowed to request things.

Yeah, but it's a rather obnoxious request.

 :yay:

I did a quick animation sketch last night of these, since people were asking for animations, i might aswell post it here, i guess you could consider it an edit x)

Keep it up pengo!

Here's my attempt at some of the stuff I mentioned in the previous post, maybe it'll give you some ideas

Colors are pretty cool, have a bit of a Roger Dean/Maxfield Parrish vibe to it.
My immediate impression is that the composition feels like a cropped version of the full image and that the scale is ambigious.
I feel frustrated by how the tree in the foreground is cut off and I want to get a better look at what's going on in the world presented. There is this temple thing on the hill in the mid ground that makes the trees in the background look like they are mountain sized which may very well be deliberate, but since we get so little other information it's pretty confusing.

If you want a more classical composition I would show more of the sky and the trees in the background basically make it less cramped. I would also advice you to think of a more consistent shape language. For instance you could repeat the upside down cone shape of the tree platform in the foreground and have it shown throughout the language, to further establish scale and help sell the design of shapes.
