Clr was kind enough to send me an edit regarding the colors. Shit was sure hard to see here. When taking his advice into account, i decided to go a somewhat different path. here

so, a friend of mine made this lineart, to show his angst towards chain mails/letters/sms, etc

and i went and colored it, in ways of a gift.

I'm not planning on adding more to it or editing it, but feedback is welcome.

Pixel Art / Reptilian arm
« on: May 10, 2006, 07:07:54 pm »
Doing some tests for applying a reptilian scaly texture on an arm.

The physics behind this is: yellow lightsource, the scales are pink/purpleish, and the ambient lighting is colored a swampy dark green.
Have at you, kind sirs.

General Discussion / Partial Transparency
« on: May 07, 2006, 05:27:51 pm »
Anyone has a clue on how to do partial transparency on Graphics Gale (using the alpha channel)? The documentation is sucky, and google isn't my friend.
Alternative software is fine too, preferably processively light (as in the opposite of Photoshop or the recent versions of Paint Shop Pro) and freeware (not really necessary though).

Pixel Art / Having fun with my balls

Here are a few spheres i did for training, to develop my shading and color choice techniques (the latter transmitted mostly by the nice people over here :)).
Lately i've been trying to pixel a scaly beast, and decided to try to do a scale texture in the 3rd one.

Edit: updated the scaly one:

Pixel Art / Realistic Skintones
« on: March 25, 2006, 03:37:25 pm »

I'm trying to reach a realistic set of skin tones for pictures of larger dimensions, without resorting to dithering. Any suggestions? Does this need more inbetween colors? H/S/L changes? I've used 4 colors for the skin here.

Pixel Art / Action Blue
« on: January 29, 2006, 05:20:35 pm »
Here's something i did to relax... Tried to give it a slightly dramatic/movie look, use (consciently) concepts like composition and focus points. Probably a little too small... Probably inspired by James Cameron's movies and action movies in general :). Other than that, no reference. A couple of anatomy issues (arms) and contrast ones probably too (didn't pick my palette with much care). Complement, i mean, comment away. Probably.

P.S.: if you see that i can improve something (one of the things that i said above, or something else), please be specific in how i should go about doing it (like "fix this doing this and this"). Thnx :)
