I see grandness and I like it!

Just updating my tile a litte. The whole thing was a mess. Still doesn't blend perfectly, but maybe better.  :-\

Just say the word if I've overlapped neighboring tiles too much.

Well, the sand had to come from somewhere right? Also, the eyeball monsters are way underappretiated.

Had to let this wait a little before I could finish, been working on a lot of things at once. I'm also considering redoing my sand tile, since it really doesn't fit with the surrounding tiles. I'll look into it.

I think it's more fun to have fun while working on it than actually finishing the darn thing.
If it was fun, it doesn't matter that whether you finished it or not.
Also, if it wasn't fun then what's the use of it being finished?

Making this *is* fun. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be spending all if my spare time on it  :hehe:

A lot of the time it can be annoying or maybe I can't find interest in it (like all things), but I still try to finish it, simply because I want others to play it. A tech demo won't convey the whole experience, so telling people all about this game they might never play is a little unnerving. I have this tendency to never finish any of my games, so I'm trying to make sure I've got something to show for.

I found that there is no advantage to slapping your opponent.
It's an interesting concept but -- for the moment at least -- it adds nothing to the gameplay.

Noted, thanks. Just for the record, were playing with someone else or on your own?

A block is a good idea. I'm considering most of what has been mentioned so far, but by all means suggest whatever you think of.

Regarding damage, it was mostly an attempt to break up huddling in the middle, randomly punching and blocking. The same reason I added the charge punch. If you recieve damage from getting blocked, you are more likely to back off and attack when the other player is caught off guard. That's what I concluded plying against others at least. If I were to add stuntime or blocking to slaps, that cloud replace it though. It would make it have a more serious impact than just as a distraction.

I'm still working on things for this game. I'm not sure I dare post anything new since I have no idea wether I'll finish it or not. I really hate making false promises.

Seems like the 2-player controlls might be a reacurring issue on some computers. I haven't been able to find it though. In the meantime, there's the Ctrl+Y option to set your own keys.

The music was made in a NES tracker called Famitracker, (I highly recconmend fiddling with that thing,) and then painstakingly recorded from the desktop to .wav files since that's the only non-midi soundformat the gameprogram takes.

As for more offscreen interaction, that was the plan all along. It's just not done yet  :D

Ah... Souly and ilkke's tiles makes mine clash a bit. Was expecting the desert to continue that way.

Hmm... I guess I'll have to do a bit of editing for this to work...

Snake: That's wonderful, I gotta take some tips from your piece to make my glaciers look good.
Sure thing. That's what we're here for.  :y:

@ Buloght: Lookin' good thar. Christmas tree in the middle of the landing pad? Clearly, these aliens know how to party.

I'm having too much fun with this thing. Reserving number 18 if possible.

EDIT:

Waitaminute... Is that my rattlesnake?  ???

I see a climate\UFO theme going here. I had to ajust my tiles to the WIP next to mine. Very bright for being under a ledge, but I can change it when the finished one arrives if necessary.

@ Ptoing: You're probably checking the palettes already, but just in case. I don't trust PS saving things correctly.  :mean:
