Heya, I'm back again with another project I'm hoping to finish this time :p
Here it is:
Huge Swords and Tentacle Monsters
Battle varying degrees of huge tentacle monsters with a somewhat inefficient laser grappling hook sword thing, I guess...

In this game you're some random gal that goes into a neon-tokyo ish city overrun by weird tentacle monsters, to kill them all and make the city liveable again.
Enemies are modular, made out of different "genes" and modular parts and'll most likely spawn around certain proc-gened hunting grounds that appear in a premade city(that's the idea at least), which will all be specific to certain genes

Pixel Art / Trying out different styles and such

Since I really wasn't happy with the style I pixel in the most now, I wanted to try to kind of mimic other artist's styles of some pieces,so here is my first one:


The one the most to the left is what I(with advice and an example from ppd, without him it was even less detailed) kinda mostly pixel in. The problem I have with such pixelworks is that it doesn't have a lot of charm unless done intensely well(my opinion of course)

The character the most to the right is the reference, PPD's(now) latest daily sketch image. Really liked this one, which is why I tried to get close to the Original, but didn't want to entirely copy it, so I first tried to make the body by pixelling it right next to the character, and then I tried to give it clothing and such(and to please ppd some very faint glossyness c:). Would love to have some advice or feedback on this ^^

After this I'll probably try to mimic some other pixel artists' styles that I really like

Pixel Art / [Wip]Mock-up thingy

Hi there!

As Always, I'm making more mock-ups, but this time I want to try it a little bit bigger and I want to try some stuff I currently suck at(trees, rocks, grass, mainly textures in general).

So hereby, I present you this thingy(the two screens next to it are for editing purposes):


This screensize is probably the size it will be, even though it is an odd resolution (I think)
The hearts, player counter above the characters (supposed to be a co-op), timer and the huds in the top would show up if you press a certain button. The hearts specifically would also show up if a character were to get hit(The yellow hearts mean an extra 2 hears, but they're drawn on top of the still existing hearts).

The grass+dirt is loosely based on decroded's 16 px mock-u, and as you can see, I really don't have a clue how to even start with the rock formations behind them(supposed to be right behind them).
 
the bar in the hud would be experience (might change the colour to green), and the icons next to the faces are buffs and debuffs(those two are random, don't know if they're final yet). number next to the bar resembles the character level, and where the black boxes are will be small icons for items.

Didn't start the background yet, since I first want to ask for any advice on the current stuff and maybe some tips on how to start drawing the rocks( already tried a it a few times, but foolishly deleted them :/. Might try it a few more times later today). this area will probably become a dark forest thingy. Will try to make the setting a bit dark.

Anyway, I hope you guys can help me a bit, especially with the textures  :crazy: , and that everything is a bit readable.

Finally managed to make maybe the most important scene of the game: the part where verybody plays their instrument(blueskirtlady sings):

The other stuff I posted here isn't as important, except from all the dungeon tiles and layers, but I'll overhaul the forest once. Really hope I can get some good advice for this :D. Will try putting this into an engine, and after that probably some enemies and animations

General Discussion / Started Streaming

Alrighty, stream is over(wasn't a really long stream but whatevs).
I'll see if I can stream a few hours earlier tomorrow :). Might stream some more in a few hours as well

Pixel Art / [C+C]some random guy

After practicing people sprite thingies(restarted from scratch six times) I have gotten a little bit better and wanted to show where I am now :) (If you guys want I can post all the seven sprites  :lol:). Anyways, I have finally gotten to makina guy bigger then 24 pixels max, so I just wanted to share that and ask some advice on it ^^. Will probably add some hair and details later, and don't know if this(or the other stuff) will ever be made into a game.

Added hair, changed some pixels and made his clothing A lil'bit more interesting. Mock-up will come soon ^^

Pixel Art / Game spritesheet

Hi there :D. I'm posting this to get some help with sprites I'm working on for a game(Devblog can be found in the secret section and stuff), since I am really not happy with them :/.
Here's a spritesheet:

I'm not really that goog at making grass or brick tiles and such, as you can see(although I'm also not happy with the weapons and the character, though the character feels a bit better), so I'm here to ask some help with that(and pretty much all the stuff :P). The weird line thingy next to the character is the "Slash" that gets displayed when you use a weapon, mainly for spriting convenience. The red gold thingy is the hp and the thing next to that the inventory slot. The darker bricks are background tiles in the tower.

The style I'm trying to go for is a kind of mysterious, mystical/lost Woods kinda vibe(although I didn't start on the background yet, since I suck even more at that) with some pretty derpy characters.

Hi there :D,

After browsing some months as a guest I decided to finally make an account so I can make my pixelart better, so here I have some sprites i'm working on for a small Roguelite i'm working on as a side project:


The main character dude thingy


Him drinking


Getting hurt/scared


His starting sword


a tiny shield


And the base wall tile

The sword and shield will be added to the player ingame, so it will look like this:


I actually have a lot more I'd like your opinions about, but I think this might already be too much for a first post  ;D.

anyway, thanks for reading this i'll be glad to hear your opinions :)
