Not really too many pixel related tuts out there..

In the Rules and Resources section you'll find the few that are about.

Remember that pixel art draws mostly from traditional art. With the exception of Anti-Aliasing techniques and maybe methods to avoid banding which tend to be issues more related to pixel art, though not always.
Most any art related course whether it is for drawing or painting or digital techniques will help you with pixel art and those types of tutorials are just a google search away.

My advise is to just google "Proko" He covers a lot of different art related fundamentals to help get you started and he is easy to follow.
Regardless of how many tuts you find though practise makes perfect. Make a sprite and post it here for critique.

S'up dood

Great start looks like you have  general knowledge about proportion but you are just a fine hair off on a lot of things. I strong recommend working with a reference image and taking a good hard look at landmarks on the body.

A good general rule to follow is the heads rule, basically measuring and sizing the body off of the size of the head. Most artists will recommending using 8 heads and I do as well, it's a good solid even # and that tends to work well with pixel art for some reason  ??? (might have something to do with working on a grid :3 )

Things to notice!

First notice the character is one pixel taller than 8 heads, this is due to exaggeration of the hair up top.

Now starting from Head numbero uno which is at the top!

Head one:

Is the head.

Head two and three:

Neck, shoulders, and end of rip cage (1/2 of stomach as well, pixel art is weird at this resolution)

Head four:

Here lies the other half of the stomach and also your hips and very top of crotch.

Head five and six:

At the top of head five is where the crotch ends and thighs begin all the way down to the knees

Head 7 and 8:

Pretty easy your calves and your feet

Such ends our adventure down the female body. Hope this helps.

I agree with the single pixelness. If I were you, I'd take a quick peek into the secret projects board and look up the Odd Tales devlog.  :y:

It seems that you are missing the ninja sprite. Please post the image to the board so we can look at it. Also, when you post the image, don't scale it.

Nice start  :y:

Head is a little funky. But heads are in general. Humans have weird heads.

To answer your first question though your head is sort of tilted down, not terribly noticeable though. Might be because the anatomy is off as well though.

Rip cage is def to wide. Seems like you noticed it yourself which is good, I'm happy to verify.

Mandible is off because you didn't tilt the mandible with the rest of the head.

With his left forearm, I'm not really sure if we'd see a gap at all in the Ulna and Radius. While they are separate you'll notice that they move pretty parallel to each other, for us to see a noticeable gap in the skeleton the wrist would have to either be angled directly toward us or away from us. But I'd have to look at some refs to find out for sure. It is a tricky spot.

Everything else looks pretty good. Love the shoulders
