Several things I suggest:

-One upload this without scaling it, Pixel Joint has a feature in which clicking the image will make it bigger
-Fix the stance it looks odd/off (I'm still learning anatomy/gesture art so I'll let someone take care of this)
-The colors blend in too much and are very bland.  I would make the colors more contrasting and interesting
-Finally perspective is off, so this would need to be fixed

Thats all I have to say but hopeful it kickstarts this thread off and you get more people to help with this.  ;)

Pixel Art / Ulfric
« on: January 22, 2015, 04:08:12 am »
So I thought since I've been playing to much Skyrim and Daggerfall that I came to a conclusion of what Skyrim would look like if it was like Daggerfall.  So heres the first person I thought I would work on, the leader of the stormcloaking rebellion, your new high king...Ulfric!  In progress...

Also please no discussion on which is better stormcloak or imperial theres places to talk about that elsewhere.

Edit:

Ok I thought I would make it bigger for more detail.  Yes I know pose is kinda...leaning awkwardly a bit.  I'll fix it just let me know what else could be fixed (which at this point maybe the whole thing  :( )

For the neck, think of it like pinned drapery I should say?  I won't say it doesn't quite hang a lot but more of tends to curve around?  The more they contract their head such as withdrawing in their shell the more folds you'll see in their skin, if the expand their neck like here I believe (its hard to tell, the picture is kinda bad) there wouldn't be much folds.  I don't know maybe this picture of my turtle well help?

Edit: I've been told that the image be broken, so...perhaps the link to the image page would be better.  http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15149831/

Hmm, maybe for more recognizable facial animation keep the big eyes like with the first, keep the reduce colors of the second, and perhaps make the lips bigger?  I'm so sorry if I'm being not very helpful like Decroded or Night.

For animating you could always do something like with what Arena/Daggerfall does and just use only a total of 3-5 frames?  Though overall I'm unsure of what you trying to go for animating wise, I just thought sharing that information may help somehow.

Looking very good so far!  Also when I saw the title I thought it meant Beetlegueuse or Beetlejuice x3

Pixel Art / Re: 16-Bit JRPGs: Which looks better?
« on: July 08, 2014, 12:05:54 pm »
I like B the best.  It'll stand out of the background better and looks like a pretty good size for an overworld map (which I assume your trying to make a sprite for) I would look into other JRPGS to get more styles while developing your own other than basing the current style on Final Fantasy 4.

So yeah Esmeralda, hot stuff!  ;D  Anyways before getting into any big detail I thought I'll post her form first to see if anything needs well adjusting of course before moving on to refining and then detail!

Using Disney's Esmeralda as a reference-

They look rather flat and could use better contrasting colors.
