« on: February 03, 2017, 02:53:26 am »
I'm a recent computer science graduate with experience in 2D game development and pixel art. I will be available for the next two months for freelance work. Here are a few samples of my work.

BomoBugs
An idle simulation game. I did all the programming and art.

BomoBugs have needs, inheritable traits, and can carry items

BomoBugs mate, and their children inherit their traits

Coins can either be passively collected by the BomoBugs or collected actively by clicking them

Glad you liked it, A2J2. I believe you mentioned something about rage and power and that's what I was going for. This was a bit interesting for me because you said you didn't like slimy things or age wrinkled characters, and those are basically my favorite things to draw. I wonder if that was a conscious decision on the part of the matchmaker...

Julito98: Awesome, I love it. Such a bizarre combination, it made me laugh out loud.

I'll bite. :) I need something to motivate me to get back into pixel art anyway.

Likes:
  • Art styles: Surrealism (ie, Salvador Dali, Joe Fenton), caricatures
  • Video games: Gamecube classics (Pikmin 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Paper Mario: TTYD, etc)
  • Shows: The Office, Fargo, Breaking Bad
  • Movies: Back to the Future, Memento, Goodfellas. Anything by Wes Anderson or Chris Nolan.
  • Books: The Count of Monte Cristo, Kingkiller Chronicles, Dune
  • Music: Queen, Electric Light Orchestra, The Dear Hunter
  • Guitar
  • Or if you had something else in mind, surprise me. The above points are for inspiration, they aren't demands.

There's nothing I categorically dislike enough to bother listing. If something is well made, its well made.

Don't copy the entire URL, just part after "watch?v="

Game looks really good. You probably won't get much meaningful criticism unless you post a couple of individual sprites.

I watched Freaks a few days ago and was really fascinated by it, so I did a quick sketch of one of the characters.

I plan to do a proper drawing of her at some point.

Don't use the URL in the address bar. Right click image, select "copy image URL" from the context menu, then paste between the image tags.
