Yay, I'm so glad that you liked it, Panda! :) And it's so sweet of you to think of me! :-[

And such awesome presents everyone has done. It was really fun to look through the list. :) Great job everyone!

Must've been bad this year though. I didn't even get coal. :(

I'm hoping for another Pixelator sometime soon.

Seconded. Preferably sometime after Christmas and New Year is all over...

I love that tile. it's like petrified alien babies.
Thanks! :)

I think it's my favourite tile, reminds me lots of an X files episode I saw years ago.

Or more suitable feedback would be that I love how it's an individual tile that is to a degree all the surrounding tiles at once - it's been drawn from the outside in rather than the inside out it appears, which is really refreshing to think about if that's the case.
When I started the tile the ones surrounding mine were already all done so I had to work from that. So, yes, it was kind of drawn from the outside in. Didn't think anyone would pay attention to something like that though :) Feels nice that my modest little tile got some attention.

Fixed my tile. Sorry for the wait!

I'm pretty pumped about my partner too! ;)

Though, the person who got me just PM'ed me to tell me they got me... a bit stumped about that. :(

I'm in! :)

Favourite colours: blue and black (thereafter green and purple). I hate pink.
I would be thrilled to get something of my original characters (found here: http://bluedelirium.com/main.html > characters).
But if you don't feel like doing any of them, then I also like mockups, Pokémon, Phoenix Wright, Zelda (Link, Ezlo and Tingle), cute monsters, frogs, fantasy stuff, monkeys, rain, and hot guys (of course).
If you do fanart, then I'd prefer if it was personalized for me somehow  (you know, not just a random sprite of Link). Crossovers with my characters would be awesome.

Wow. Lots of cute cats! Everyone has such pretty companions. :)

My younger brother told me yesterday that he convinced my parents to get a cat for the family. We have been trying to convince them for years and then they give in just like that, when I'm on the other side of the planet! No fair! I hope they wait until I get back home in the spring. Or the cat will probably just like them, and take no shine to me at all. :(

A good way to start is by finding some simple things that you like. A pretty flower, a leaf, a lampshade, etc.. And try to draw them as detailed as you can, and with respect to light and shadows. Asking someone else to step in and tell you where you might make changes is also very important for your learning progress. As it is about teaching your brain to notice new aspects of your surroundings. You might not understand yourself how you can change the picture for the better.

Start with things, and not with people or animals is my suggestion. When you can draw those simple things to your own satisfaction, move up a notch. Add things with more details, that are harder to draw. And as kitty said; drawing from real life is the best way to study.

Pixel Art / Re: Mythical Figurines

Xion: Sorry, but the hair stays. I was kinda going for a "seaweed"-look so I take tentacles as a compliment ;)

JJ Naas: I hope the pose looks better now. Tried to enhance hips a little, changed the angle of her butt, and let her come higher up at the rock. I have heard that in Finland, Näcken/Näkki(?) lives in a castle under the sea, and travels through the land by the many lakes of Finland.

Emtch: Other creatures planned but not yet sketched are: Bäckahäst (similar to Kelpie), Lindorm (like a dragon without wings), Enhörning (Unicorn). Vittra might be kinda hard to pixel, as fil_razorback pointed out...

fil_razorback: Shine on tail starting to look better? I haven't quite gotten started on it too much yet.

Arachne: Thank you so much for the wonderful help with the arm and hand holding the comb! A mirror by the desk would indeed be useful. I might have to invest in one. Saved the Skogsrå edit for when I get to that figure.
Theodor Kittelsen's work is very nice and inspiring, but not quite fitting these figurines. They will also have transparent backgrounds, but I will keep his art in mind when pixelling Näcken.

And latest edit!
