Pixel Art / Re: "Cincy's" - C+C wanted, WIP

I made another iteration, this time fixing some lighting and also the sign which was rendering oddly. I also began to start a night cloud, but I'm unsure of it, I want it to feel darker, like a rain cloud. Eventually I want to add a rain overlay.

Does this look better than version 1?

Ah yes, I do suppose his face may be a bit large. I wanted a slightly larger head for a bit of detail, but I think I may have went a bit to big.  :P

I would make the ends of your wires fade a bit maybe or have a plug or end piece, it feels incomplete to me when it just stops.

I think something that would help make your art look a whole better, even under time constraints, is making things more balanced. For example, on your evil space gorilla, it's helmet isn't round, and it's head is on one side. Also one had has it's fingers far more spaced out than the other hand. Fixing these small things even when you're starting out makes it look a whole lot better.

Ok, so I've revised it a bit, and I feel it looks a whole lot better. I added a fence as a middle ground element to kill off the dead space that was there. I also fixed lighting and made everything darker with some highlights.

Wow, yes, that is totally the look I'm going for. I also noticed you used fewer colors than I, which is something I could aim for. Thanks for you help, I'll work on this and post results after I finish my other thread.

And yea imgur changed it to jpg for some reason.

I'm actually working with another person, and they needed a sprite and background to get the engine started. But I will stick to one now, and then finish the other.

I'm new here, but I can give advice on what I see. As for the sprites standing still they look good, but in animation it kind of looks like the guy's let is retracting into his body. Try shading the leg going behind him a bit to give it depth. Also as far as the shield, you could make it a 5 frame animation and have it bob 2 pixels, but it looks ok right now

Hello again, I posted a scene earlier and am working on that alongside a sprite for the main character of a game. The game is a noir-style, dark. Clyde here is supposed to be the good guy, but I still want him to be dark and mysterious. He is wearing a trench coat and somewhat of a fedora. Also if anyone could advise me on how to shade his trenchcoat, because right now it feels too shiny to me.

Edit: larger link
