gotta admit that i havn't actually tried it my self, but one of my friends studiyng architecture uses "sketchup" and and has nothin' but praise. It's suppousedly (how dew you spell that?) very intuitive, and it cant be all that bad since google just brought the company making it.

Check it out: http://sketchup.google.com/

i know you can disable perspective

Yeah i think it helped, also, you might wanna go for less highlights, or might even darken the distant arm and leg, it would make the animation less cluttered and decrease the contrast issues.

mmm... loving this, got a really nice feel to it. Disagree on the dithering too, but second the suggestion to make brighter highlights on sub.

Pretty cool

issues: (i second dhaos comments on the arm/contrast), the vertical movement of the head is a bit strange, the head upper body moves from SW(southwest) to NE, imo it would be better to reduce it to just S/N, also, a bit of hair movement would spice it up alot.

top dollar stuff, you really managed to nail those curvy shapes -except one, the shading of the upper half of the torso looks too flat (and i know that shape has got to be a bitch shading wise), it doesn't look belieable imho, anyways, wouldn't mind seeing more of those, they're ace

love how that piece is turning out, adorable colors as well as design, single crit: you might wanna remove the bottom part of the dark outline, defining the barrelhole and replace it with a highlight instead, keep it up

I can't help Boring architecture on Campus Sad

Fair enough, well, if you can pull off blicks suggestion i'd be kewl too. mayby you could spice it up w. some people in some of the windows or sumthin', i dunno. i tried (and failed) doing a massive iso like this before, so im just impressed you got this far w. keeping color and style consistant

gawd your iso people rock!, the buildings look a bit halfassed in comparrison though epesc. the top one. I think it could easily be spiced up, extruding the windows (i dunno if this makes any sense) and generally just making some of the features of the building... ehmm... "pop out and in"). A bit of specific knitpicking- the top of the triangular disigns above some of the windows and doors on the bottom building are off. The offset of the peak on the windows should be moved a coupple of pixels to the right and a coupple of pixels to the left on the door design. On the other hand, fuck my comments, just make more of them iso people!

"Vedsten - Your first one was so nice, it was truly my favourite. There was just some weird thing going on with the brick of that back building though, I couldn't tell if it was a slanty, attached piece or if it was going behind the front building. But I have to say, I liked that one so much more than your new one (Though also cool, but too dark for my personal taste...it doesn't seem finished so I'm reserved in commenting more on it)."

- the back building's supposed to "pop" out, the odd lines are there to preserve tiles, it's a re-use, and though ill have to admit it looks a tad odd when you look at it for too long and zoom in, t shouldn't be too noticeable (or that, atleast, was the plan ^^), i agree, the second one's too dark, i actually tried making a pisece w. alot of contrast, cuz im pretty bad at it, and thus ~ i failed misrablely ^^, btw, quite the nifty entry you've submitted

"@vedsten: I'd say your first submission is the most aesthetically pleasing for me; It works very well as a background.  The colors preserve the detail while keeping it second in importance to the sprites that will go in there.  Not too much detail, just right.  The second one doesn't work as well for me; The outlines and dark, bold colors pop it out a bit too much.  It still shows some amazing technical detail, though.  Great entries.  I love your style."

-Glad you like the first one, agree on your comments on the second ^^

Thx for the comments, and thx for the contest, excellent training!
