Job offers / [PAID] BG & Sprites Pixel Art (MD/GEN & SNES)
« on: May 11, 2013, 05:26:12 pm »
Hello There,

I've co-founded WM, small USA company that started as a homebrew game maker. We released Pier Solar with on Sega Genesis/MegaDrive in 2010 (yes!).

We have a few projects with heavy pixel-art needs, always looking to recruit talents to help completion.

It's a paid position. If you're interested, please drop a message, along with a link to past work, to: careers at watermelon-corp.com

Here are the projects and tasks:

- "ProjectY": Which is a beat-them-all like Street of rage / Final Fight, post apocalyptic cyberpunk. What makes this game fresh is the fighting mechanics and unique "RPG" twist. Platform is Sega Genesis / Mega Drive (Yes! On steroids).

-  Sprites: Large characters/enemy sprites animation (48*64 -> 64*96 px, 16c). We provide concept art and first frame reference.

-  Backgrounds: 2d side view, two layers, 16c per layer, 512->768 tiles. Some tiles animated, color cycling, etc. We provide rough concept art for each.

- GUI: menues, fonts, icons, etc.

- "ProjectN": Which is top-view action-adventure, Zelda meets Pocky & Rocky. Unique antic art style, unique story, think Greek mythology collides with Jules Verne. It's a SNES/Super Famicom game (Yes!).

-  Sprites: Sprites design & animation, moderate sized (32*32 -> 64*64 px, 16c). We provide concept art.

-  Backgrounds: 2d top view, two layers, 16c per layer, 768->1024 tiles. We provide rough concept art.

- GUI: menues, fonts, icons, etc.

Thank you for your time.
Let me know if any question.

Job offers / [PAID] 2d background tileset (beat them all...)
« on: January 28, 2013, 06:09:28 pm »
Hello there,

I cofounded WM, small USA company that started as a homebrew game maker. We released Pier Solar with on Sega Genesis/MegaDrive in 2010 (yes!). The cool thing is that we are making pixel art games within original pixel art limitations as our game could run on old platforms as well. I think that's very rewarding because specs are legit and we always try to push the hardware to the max.

-------------------

We are looking for a talented pixel-artist to design 2D backgrounds for two projects:

- One project is post appocalyptic cyberpunk beat them all ("Street of rage 3", "Final Fight" (arcade).
- Another one is a top-view mecha game (perspective similar to "king of the monsters" with a more dramatic/war mood).

Please google for the game names to get an idea.

-------------------

High quality pixel art, which fits a as small as possible amount of tiles.

Technical details are: 512tiles per background set.
One tile is 8*8px. H/V flip possible.
One tile can hold 15 colors + transparency. Two palettes of 15 colors available.
Between 10 and 30 unique tileset to design per project.

-------------------

If any interest, you can send resume and reference work (pixel art 2d background) at careers at watermelon - corp dot com

Thanks for your time, feel free to ask questions here, I'll try to answer asap.

PS: We are also hiring in other positions (programmers, motions artists, ...), feel free to review the list http://www.watermelon-corp.com/data/careers_memo.pdf.
