I think you captured the character pretty well :)

The eyes need some work, though, since the black outlines stand too much for my taste.

Keep it up! :)

That's what i'm talking about. They're making of SF a bigfat flash game, with poor animations and almost linear graphics  >:(

I would prefered they rendered HD images from the SF movie instead  :P

General Discussion / Re: The right time to make a game?
« on: January 02, 2007, 03:17:22 pm »
Well, from my experience, it's better to make games in teams, since almost nobody by his own can master all the aspects the game making involves p.e. design, spriting, music and sfx.

There's a little community of game makers that i frequent, www.gmclans.com , and what we do is make games in teams, named clans. We have all kind of skilled people there, from designers to musicians, including programmers and pixellers of course.

Sorry if this sound like a promotion, but that is the only place i known that really can help you to get into gamemaker.

You can try to make games alone though, just do what we said, start with smaller projects, and document yourself in every aspects of the Game Design.

Good luck with your search :)

well, i have the same problem in a collab that i made in another forum, and i can tell that the problems IS the copy/paste method with png files, when it is used with IE.

In fact, IE tends to dark any png image, and when you copy it to the clipboard, it goes already with the dark palette.

The problem can be solved when people do the "save as" in his HD, and then open the png file with your favorite drawing software, do the editing, and then save again as png.

Hope this help :)

Pixel Art / Re: T-Rex: a comic one :P
« on: March 10, 2006, 06:31:37 pm »
Thanks for the feedback guys!

Yeah, I'm aware of the anatomy issues, but as i said, this is mainly a comic character, in which i did a little of experiment with the shading.

I just wanted to draw a T-Rex that i have in my mind, rather than do it with a real reference.

And I'm consider to do more character like this, garsh. Stay tuned ;)
