Pixel Art / Iso NW Character
« on: April 19, 2010, 01:40:34 pm »
After fixing over and over and over I am out of ideas and dont know what to do...

I seem to have trouble with North view of this character, when on rotation it seems a bit shorter than the other? Also I have no idea of what to do with legs and foot, I dont like them right now.

Any C+C appreciated.

General thoughts on it also welcome.

I understand about frames count, but since I want to keep this as low as possible, I decided to go with 4 frames max... otherwise it'll be too much work in creating outfits.

Fixed leg length, and leaning back problem...hopefully... not sure about weight.

General Discussion / A good sallary

So for some time now I have been looking into finding so said "good salary" for artist... From my research its said that a professional pixel artists salary ranges in about 2000 - 2300$ a month, full time. This was said to me from a friend of mine in gaming industry... http://www.windship.pe.kr/dot_gallery/ his gallery, quite good... but hes from Korea so maybe prices change.

And I haven't found a number for other type of art yet... what do you think or know for that matter about payment for Illustrators, Concept artists and Environment designers??? Also do concept artist work with Illustrations as well??

Also what do you think of working part time from home?? Do you think that prices get lower if you work under this conditions and does it actually benefit the buyer in any way if he works with designers under this conditions?

I am looking to gather information on this matter, so any help is appreciated.

Oh and feel free to argue about pixel artist part, I am looking to hear ideas.

Whoa, really?
I took a random color in Paint and it's only one pixel in the whole file.

But it doesn't look jpeg, on closer inspection.

This is weird; it has a lot of colors which are only used in two pixels, even on the first cow.

I don't mean to point fingers, but it looks NPA to me. Zack, in what program did you make this?

If he used photoshop and shrunk it later its normal for it to have many colors since Photoshop AA it automatically... I suppose thats the cause.  ^-^
