Very subtle suggestion: have the white knights face one direction and the black knights face another direction. It will make implied lines. Human viewers can't help to follow where things are pointing so right now with all the knights facing the same direction there's lots of energy moving to the left side of the screen. This little adjustment will help it feel balanced.

Also if white to play: h3

For additional visual complexity consider .jpg on quality 1

I really like the angle for this project and I LOVE your medieval music.

This guy was recognizable:

Are you going to feature this music with these characters?

I'd probably go Hellion clan to be honest.

Seems like a fun idea. How are items and equipment going to work? That seems like it'd be the primary source of friction.

I might jump on the discord, we'll see

Like this?

That'll be $1,000 unless you're using it for education.
It's a closely-guarded secret method I'm afraid.

In all honesty though, it does require the current version of Illustrator. Sadly, GIMP does not have the feature as far as I'm aware.

A1 looks the most professional. Clients are going to love this. Customers are going to expect it.

D1 is the most aesthetic. That is to say it exhibits the highest sense of refined taste and it is the responsibility of the cultured man to be intolerant of mediocrity.

Choose wisely.

My inner child is proud that my outer adult can still post on Pixelation.

My inner adult is afraid that we will lose the priceless wealth, the zillions of hours accumulating pixel value, to internet rot or devious raiders. It's especially apparent going way back to old posts. Pixelation is becoming the old spooky wooden shack on the hill full of ancient scrolls in dead languages nobody remembers how to read.

How can this be preserved and archived? We need ideas people.
Else a wildfire may someday burn down our precious monastery.

I know how to recreate this effect but I'd have to charge ya  ;) :y:
Or at least trade for something cool...
...see it is an old tradition passed down from generation to generation.
An exclusive technique that requires specialized tools.
It is an alchemical process for which I will be ostracized if I make known to the public, so you must understand that I have to be careful about how I describe it...  :sry:

...but hypothetically if I was to do this look, I would start in the current version of Illustrator. Theoretically.
I would "hypothetically" make the primary shapes and add a glow.
This "asset substrate" would then be hypothetically transferred to a specialized tool called "Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7" (circa 2003) where upon "evaporating" a 256% color concentrated solution in graphics interchange format, these bizarre dither patterns and random dots will appear.
This "feature" can be found in much of my very first attempts at "pixel art" which one could theoretically see specimens of if they were so inclined...

2003!  :'(
A-hem... these are not mine... ...they... ...these must be from somebody else's hard drive... I don't know how they got on my hard drive I swear... I don't know what you're talking about...
...I was holding these for a friend...
But for sake of science...

Exhibit A:

(notice the similar color blend gradient to the white glow of the shapes)

Exhibit B:

(compare the "additional" dithering patterns on the concrete to your grey tiles)

Any more than this I am not at liberty to discuss, sadly.

His gorgeous flowing locks of gold lets me know it is indeed the same fearless savage from any angle.  :y:

If you want him to look even more beefy, here's my idea (and it might not work but it's worth a try):

Notice on the front view his arms are the same distance as the edge of his hair from side to side?
But then on the side view, the arms are less than the edge of the hair. I think this is why the arms seem wimpy on the side view.

Maybe if he did enough curls his biceps would get bigger???
