Pixel Art / Re: WIP Girl's face

Quote
the placement of the individual elements of a human face ( besides the neck which was completely and way off. Try to think that the neck connects behind the ears and under the chin) isn't radically wrong, nor is their shape

Well, I would like to start off by saying that this was very helpful as was the edit. To say, "go learn more then start over," is not helping. It is the same as saying, "go find something helpful and learn from it." This is something I see a lot on this board, and for that reason I am especially greatful to you helm. Yoou took the time to write two sentences about anatomy, which I can learn from rather than simply saying go study it. Secondly, this is a rough sketch, very rough. That is why it says WIP, but I guess I could have made it more clear that this work is far from even half complete. I just wanted to get some input before I went so far that it actually would be better to just start over. I have gotten some helpful input, so thanks to all, and look for an update soonish.

Thanks. I had not seen that before. This helps a lot. Now if only I had one facing away i.e. Up/Left or Up/Right.

General Discussion / Help with RPG sprites

I'm sorry If I posted thiss in the wrong section, but I have never asked for anything like this, so I was unsure where I should post this topic. I'm looking for something pretty specific. I've been trying to animate a character walking in 8 directions. Up, Down, Left, and Right are fine, but the diagonal directions are a nightmare. This is something that has always been hard for me. Does anyone have a tutorial or at least some good refrence sprites for animated RPG characters walking diagonally?

This is a dude. I was trying to make him look buff, but I was also trying to keep the body simple looking. The main focus of the character is the head. As far as the eyes, they are supposed to be drawn on with ink. I see what you are sayin about the shape of the bag. It is supposed to be tight and a bit mangled, but I'
ll see if I can make that more clear.

Thanks for your input, Xion Night.

This is a character that I made up long ago. I doubt anyone remembers. He was first seen on pixelation. Please C+C

People still remember me? Thanks Crazy Asian Gamer. I'll play around with the dithering some more and see what happens. Yeah, it would probably look really cool if it flowed more.

I'm still looking for feedback on the background. I guess I forgot to mention that the first time. I think it might look better with a different color, but I've played around with it, and I can't get it right. Any other feedback is also great.

I worked on this for a couple of days. I've been studying pixel art from other artists, and I feel like I am getting better. I would love to hear any thoughts on this peice.

Wow, amazing as usual. What more could I ask for? Well, maybe an animation? I think it would be cool to see his mouth move like he is really saying, "Chunk Funk!"
