Whenever Ive seen this done elsewhere, they'd keep the tiles hidden untill it was surrounded by completed tiles, so the entire image could be slowly revealed as it was completed. Probably not as fun a possibility with this one, but I figured I'd suggest it anyhow, because Im way too eager to see it all <3

Pixel Art / [WIP] Looking for lots of help on a big landscape thingy.
« on: October 24, 2007, 02:54:49 pm »

I was inspired, quite some time ago, by the monochrome challenge over at PixelJoint. At the time I completely forgot the fact that it was supposed to have a cyberpunk theme... so I started working on that tree. Most of the time I spent on it was trying to figure out what to do with it. I finally slapped a decent background on it, and Im happy with the way its going so far.
What I really need help with are those awful colors.  I stupidly have my work-area set to some bluish color, so it skewed my perception of the ones I chose, and when put on a white background everything seems much brighter and bluer/pinker than I had expected. Im also looking for opinions on weather I should add some sort of character in there somewhere. I'm bored with my standard nekid-lady, and though a dragon might look nifty, its kinda old-hat as well. My mum suggested some sort of mountain-lion but I didnt think that would fit with the feel of the picture... anyways! Enough of my rambling! Thanks in advance for the help.

General Discussion / Re: Can your parents draw and how is your eyesight?
« on: December 21, 2006, 07:31:23 pm »
My folks both drew a lot in their youth, and both are nearsighted, though my dad would never admit it. I'm also nearsighted. It was really fun to compare my doodles to the doodles of my father when he was a young'an. We both use the same design elements even though I had never seen his doodles prior. There is one thing I do with curvy lines and circles that is almost exactly like one he showed me. I don't know if that is merely an odd coincidence or if the artistic-eye is hereditary.

Living in Colorado is fun.

My poor dad fell down out there. We haven't heard from him sense.

There we go:

I really appreciate the edits everyone, it helped a great deal. I think she's almost done, I'm still not too sure about the shading on her belly/leg region, or her outstretched hand, but thats nothing a bit of fine-tuning wont take care of..

Quote from: The B.O.B.
By the way, I'd just like to say it's nice to see some female anatomy with some actual curves, especially of the belly, instead of the same old anime-ish slim girls with zero spots of a True female body.
Thanks! I usually get a bunch of complaints about how "unrealistic" or unappealing my fleshy gals are... but being a gal myself, I know full well what real ladies look like. Its refreshing to hear that I'm not the only one who appreciates a bit of curves.

I actually managed to squeeze some time in before I have to run to work. I did a lot of things here, with a ton of help from baccaman21's edit... fixed up some colors, worked on the proportions, finished things up. Not too sure Im happy with the wing design, Ill take another look at it tomorrow and see how I feel then.

Thanks guys!
So far, Ive tried to femenize the face, elongate the torso, and make the legs more proportionate... and a few other miscellanie.

That foot will be the death of me, I'm sure.
