The original post can be found below this text:

Hello there!

I'm doing some graphics for a remake of Knightmare, a MSX game. Action is supposed to happen at ancient Greece, so we are trying to get closer to that atmosphere than the original game was :). The main character, Popolon, is a Greek hero. I don't know what the heck is a Greek warrior doing wearing a horned helmet, but the original sprite had it and we wanted to keep his look  ;D.

I'm also drawing the tileset for level one. I would like to heard your opinion about it. I'm mostly worried about colours combination between the different surfaces. Road tiles doesn't seem to be too integrated with grass and dirt tiles :(.

And finally, a mock-up. Not trying to do something beauty. Just playing a bit with the tileset.

Lovely zombie.

The side view is out of perspective. You've drawn just straight side views. You should be able to see a part of his right foot, and the shoulder should be placed a bit lower. And you should do something about the egg shape of his head too ;-)

Adding that frame has helped a lot. It look more fluent now. Thank you for the suggestion.

About the hair color, I'm gonna stick with the black hair. I strongly believe that Bruce Lee shouldn't look like a japanese punk [;)].

Yes, the stance is completely different from the original one. I decided to use this one after watching the Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris fight at the coliseum. By the way, an edit woul be wellcomed!

On the other hand, I've drawed the "standing" animation:

Nobody said anything about the shading, so I've tried to follow the same style.

I believe that the smoke at the shooting animation needs some work yet. As Arachne pointed, Its movement is quite unnatural. I've done an small edit, trying to follow your style:

Edit: link fixed, sorry

I've tried to add some shading to it...

It doesn't look right to me, but I can't say exactly what the problem is  :-[. It's supposed to be highlighted from top.

Some help would be greatly appreciated.

You're right. The forehand seems a bit odd. I've been looking some videos of Bruce Lee and decided to changed his pose a bit.

Hi, I'm David. I've just wrote my ob. introduction post, so you can read it for further information about myself if you feel curious enough ;).

We are planning to do some sort of Yie Are Kung Fu Anthology game. So we plan to use characters from different incarnations of the game. This one, Young Lee, is the hero from the MSX version of YAKF 2. The original sprite is a tribute to Bruce Lee, so my version is based on him too (from the film Fist of fury).

I believe that, despite of having almost no neck, he resembles Bruce enough :). But I feel that he looks quite dull yet.

C&C are welcome.

Edit: some highlights added

Hello there!

My name is David. I was born in Spain several decades ago. I love pixel art since I first saw an arcade machine. But I never tried to do my own stuff 'till some months ago, so I suppose that I'm a newbie :P.

If you want to see some of my... err... work, you can see most of it in The Goonies 20th aniversary (http://goonies.jorito.net/). I provided the sprites and some background/item graphics.
