Well heres my 2 cents,

Instanly I can see that the stripes on the shirt are wrong and should match the place men of the shirt not the placement of the line

Not digging the black lines ither, I mean the outlines fine but it doesn't realy work as a dark shade. He also seems lifeless give him some more action.

Lucas's Shirt of Mother 3,Earthbound same game?

Any way I'd darken up the shades in the face, maybe give the face more structure, and then I'd remove some of the shades that a worth less, and are not noticible if missing.

IDK just something to thin about.

P.S all of those games are fine examples of great sprite work I realy enjoyed the use of color in Mother 3, so  if you get the chance try looking them over.

I think theres a lighting issue, your using your darkest shade as the lighest shade for the brown. That doesnt really work. Also post the picture in it's lowest resolution, please.

Two days have gone and I'm slowly progressing. Completing a grass tile set is on my list of things to do. The tree needs lot more work and the castle is not turring out good. I think the rocks are okay but I need more grass texture. I got 3 hours so I would like some more feed back to work with. Thanks!

Yeah I know these are lame excuses of art, but I've been working for a while and can't seem to figure out anything.None of the sprites match eachother at all.Left to right, Castle, Grass(well more like a green shape),Human figure, Amorphis Rocks?, Tree. I would like some more help pl0x, I mean, this things got more clash then a seventies beedroom. Thanks.



Edit:

Working all day today. I decided to redo the castle, so that it can fit entierly on on "slice" of land. This ,I think, works better. Still doesn't look real, a little dissapointed.I'll have more up tomorrow, planing on reworking all the old sprites.

Well thats a shame, sucks throwing away all those hours of work.
I completly understand. Thats kind why I'm here right?. Well thanks. It's really hard to find information but I guess one could use common sense. I'll read, revise and repost.

Hm I guess I'll have to rethink everything.

I used a basic paint program to make it. I was just worried about keeping things balanced and inside perspective. I must have been to meticilous.I guess less is infact more
