Pixel Art / Ken portrait WIP

it just started with a sketch in geography the other day.. didnt think I'd take it as far as I already have and now the messed up anatomy is really bugging me

Ive never really studied anatomy or anything before.. so any help or advice would be greatly apreciated

my first topic here, the one about animal crossing graphics.. you might remember some of the mockups i made..

well, specifically:

has been getting a bit of attention
especially since someone flashed it onto their GBAmicro:
(I'd fool for it :P)
making topics at all the expected places, gamefaqs, various ac forums, nintendo forums


I may as well mention my last hoax, that got HUGE

(I made the screen in mspaint like usual, but made it look like a scan in photoshop ( dont ask me what the article says, i have no idea :P)
i got golden sun 3 added to databases at certain sites, and I counted over 200 topics I found when i made this image, since I got it hosted at the most trusted golden sun site, it quickly grew..


oh well, just letting you guys know..

and has anyone else ever done anything like this? :P

General Discussion / got a favourite simple pixel art?

if you get what I mean..
got a favourite.. little pixel doodle?... like something simple.. not really much effort in it, yet you keep looking at it or using it?
mine is probably this:
(might need to enlarge it a couple times)
really nothing amazing, but I always have put it in my backgrounds, whether I made them or not.. sometimes I'll just be sitting here doing nothing and just moving my mouse round it wasting time  :P 8)

so what about you guys? got any mediocre pixel art you have a soft spot for?

listening to one of 4CR's old podcasts, about a bunch of fanboys being put together in the same house with one tv :p
so I started making this while I listened.. its going to be featured in their next mailbag (friday) and I just thought you guys might like to see it..


and Im not sure if I actually will continue it

Ive only really worked on the head.. so dont bother with them.. my face looks kinda fucked up. it used to look a lot worse but faceless helped me fix it up with a few simple solutions... anyways.. it still doesnt look quite right.. i picked a hard perspective..
so if someone can sketch a head in the same position as mine, it would help heaps

and also, can anyone tell me if my self portrait looks like me? I cant tell  :-\..

oh, and the colours, if anyone thinks my colours could be better, feel free to recolour and adjust them as you see fit

Pixel Art / animal crossing graphics

I've been working on some animal crossing tiles and sprites for a couple weeks, and theyve been coming along nicely with the exception of my trees.

as you can see they dont stand out enough infront of the grass and it looks like theyre paints on the ground.
There arent any outlines in animal crossing and I didnt want to use them whilst transferring them to 2d, so that option is out.
I was wondering if there was some way to make it stand out better without darkening the leaves or adding an outline  ???
