General Discussion / Re: PARTICIPATE IN LINEART THREAD DECISION

After reading through the whole discussion I'd have to agree with your final conclusion, Helm. Sounds like a fine idea to me.

Sorry for the double post again, I just wanted to post the update before I go to bed. Here is what I wanted to try out. I changed up the top of the cliff a bit to make it less bare. I also added the man I was talking about earlier. I don't want him to stick out much and be the main focus of the picture. Incase anyone is wondering, the guy is supposed to be facing toward the mountains.

Well I only see a few things that could possibly help you. The first would be that his eyes are very large looking. I think this may be just a style, but if you are going for a realistic look then this is bad. I actually like them kind of large though. Secondly, the bottom lip looks somewhat flat. Maybe adding a highlight on it will give it a bit more depth. And the last thing I wanted to mention is it's hard to tell if he has any eyebrows or not. Hopefully these will help you. Goodluck and keep it up, it's looking real nice  :).

Actually I was planning to add a small isometric man standing on top the cliff looking over the horizon. However, the more I look at the cliff, the less I like it. It seems to just pop in the picture out on nowhere.

Decided to go back to this today while I had a bit of freetime and try and change the feel of it a bit. I plan to add some subtle lightbeams shining through the clouds. I still haven't fixed the grass or added flora to the cliff's edge. Focusing on the clouds at the moment.

Thanks for all of the crits and advice everyone. I just wanted to say I won't be coming back for a few months so I won't have a chance to post any progress of this but that doesn't mean I won't just leave your advice. Thanks for the help everyone  :).

I'm pretty unfamiliar with the isometric style and thought I'd do a piece to get some practice. The colors are pretty boring, just the basic rectangles to begin with for now. Oh and I think a lot of the shading may be off because I'm not really sure where to go with it, but I thought I'd give it a try. Constructive criticism and edits are very welcomed and will be appreciated. I need a lot of help with this, so fire away.
(Sorry for the white background, it's temporary until the building is complete)

Ah that looks a lot better zeid. Thanks a lot. Here is the latest update incorpating the shape change based on zeid's edit. Thanks. Oh and the shading is still just a placeholder incase anyone point's out errors.

Oh and thanks for the references phillipptr. I actually was using a reference based off a bolete cap.

Alrighty thanks guys. I'm more of a visual learner than anything so the pictures help. I'll post what I've got done soon.

Edit - Not sure if double posting is frowned upon here so I'll just edit my post for the time being. Here is what I have come up with so far. I went with a different shape than you guys posted and decided to use somewhat of a bolete shape. The shading is just a filler incase anyone else sees an error. Again thanks for the help so far and any future help.
